Property information
For a few years now, we've been accommodating guests from all over the world in our guesthouse Storyhouse in Kommetjie. Kommetjie and the surroundings are so beautiful, that we would love to keep on sharing our privilege to be living here, with more people. We have self-catering apartments, as well as B&B bedrooms. My husband Charl, is a handyman in his free time, and he especially loves to work with wood, so to add new beds or cupboards is a minor task for him. I love to sew and garden. Our guesthouse is evolving continuously - there are always something to be upgraded! The latest feature is a solar system, and growing up on a farm, we just had to add some rain water tanks. Storyhouse is walking distance to Long Beach - no need to pack your car for a day on the beach. The white sandy beach has the most beautiful views towards Hout Bay and Chapmans Peak. So, pack your bags! There is so much to experience!
Neighbourhood information
Use Storyhouse in Kommetjie as your base to explore the Big Six - Seven? - all within an hour's drive from Kommetjie (Table Mountain Cable Car; Robben Island; Victoria and Alfred Waterfront; Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden; Grootte Schuur; Cape Pointthe walkway to the V&A).
If you're lucky you might see some flamingos in The Old Kom, but nonetheless from there follow the boardwalk amongst fynbos towards Slangkop lighthouse- or take the informal footpath along the beach towards Long Beach with beautiful views of Hout Bay and Chapmans Peak. Remember your camera/mobile phone!
Imhoff Farm is about 3 kilometres away and popular for its shops and restaurants. Continue northwards towards Noordhoek Farm Village at the base of Chapmans Peak where you can buy freshly baked croissants, bread and pies. Several shops and restaurants cater for all tastes.
If you plan to visit Cape Point, the ostrich farm on the way is well worth a visit.
About 7 kilometres from Kommetjie you'll find quaint little villages like Fish Hoek, Simon's Town, Kalk Bay and Muizenberg.
And don't forget a sundowner on our beach just down our street, with the most astonishing sunset views!
