Property information

Escape the city life and bring your family to our tranquil piece of heaven. Here, time stands still and you can truly kick your shoes off and just relax from the minute you arrive. The Fisherman's cottage is located on a farm at the foot of the Drakensberg mountains; a short 17km drive from Mooi River. The cottage has panoramic views over a 6ha private trout dam and you can enjoy the spectacular sunsets while sipping your sundowner on the cottage patio, or the deck near the little waterfall.

Neighbourhood information

Fisherman's Cottage is located 27kms from Nottingham Road and 21kms from Rosetta via the Connington Road. The Kamberg area is also just a 30min drive away and has beautiful hiking and biking trails around Highmoor. The area is best known for the Midlands Meander and Fisherman's Cottage is very well positioned to explore the highlights of the Midlands area and Nottingham Road. These include some of the region's fantastic local restaurants like La Lampara and Bierfassl as well as the lovely Boschhoek and Gowrie golf courses. Alternatively, you could also simply just relax around the cottage or try your hand at catching trout in the dam in front of the house or bass at the dam on our next-door farm. For those who want to go for a swim, we also have a lovely natural pool with a wooden deck at the bottom of the small waterfall. Mountain and gravel bikers, definitely bring your bikes and go for a ride around the district roads in the area or take a drive to Karkloof and Glengarry which have some of the best mountain bike trails in the country.
