This gem gives you nature like never before, wake up with an fish eagle in the background singing while overlooking the beautiful dam with lots of Bass in. Enjoy the view of the mountains that surrounds you. You won't want to leave this charming, one-of-a-kind place. Fresh air and yet a stone throw away from town.

Neighbourhood information

Vryheid was founded in 1884, the Town was formed within as Area granted to early Voortrekker settlers, by the Zulu King Dinuzulu. Vryheid is a coal mining and cattle ranching town. Vryheid is the Afrikaans word for Freedom. The Town lies close to the Site of one of the more infamous battles, of the Battlefields Route. The Town of Vryheid was moreover intrinsically involved in the subsequent Anglo-Boer War of 1899, making it one of the more interesting Towns on the Battlefields route. There are natural warm baths in the area. "Oh my Goodness" offer the famous wet Boer-biscuit an old taste in the modern era, not to miss. Enjoy the warm hospitality and lovely nature, mountains and streams that the area offer.
