Northcliff is a wealthy residential suburb of Johannesburg, South Africa. The suburb is located on Northcliff Ridge which provides views to both the north and the south. Northcliff's huge homes are nestled around a steep incline of the hill, and on the foot of Northcliff borders the suburbs of Fairland, Blackheath, Cresta and Berario. Tsakani's Elephant Hideaway nestles under the famous Northcliff Ridge eco park a popular, mountaintop park featuring a paved walkway, benches & panoramic views of the city & sunset. Nestled in the foothills of Northcliff Hill, Linden is one of the prettiest and oldest suburbs of Johannesburg, lying to the north west of the city centre between Emmarentia and Darrenwood. Linden is named after the Linden farm, which stood in this part of Johannesburg over a hundred years ago. The original farmhouse still exists somewhere in the heart of the suburb. Set in the heartland of Joburg, Emmarentia Park has two major attractions for visitors. The Johannesburg Botanical Gardens, and Emmarentia Dam. The 81 hectare Botanical Gardens date all the way back to 1866. The Johannesburg Botanical Gardens The are seven distinct gardens – the Herb Garden, the Hedge Garden, the Succulent Garden, the Shakespeare Garden, the Rose Garden, the Chapel Garden and the Arboretum (a collection composed exclusively of trees). Emmarentia Dam is ideal for watersports such as canoeing and sailing on smaller boats due to its 7.5 hectare water body. The dam attracts a variety of bird life, while on the wide spaces to the north west of the dam people walk their dogs, jog along the pathways, or simply chill out. Uber is always available for transportation to work, meetings or a quick trip the shopping centre which is 2km (1.5mi) away. The Sandton Gautrain Station is approximately 12km from our house. The Gautrain will connect you to the airport. There are grocery stores and restaurants within walking distance, during the day.
