After accidentally leaving our camera behind, we faced the unfortunate reality that returning to retrieve it wasn’t an option. Yet, the staff and manager at Hotel Steinbock went above and beyond to ensure it was safely returned to us. Their kindness, honesty, and dedication were absolutely remarkable—and deeply appreciated. In a world where such genuine helpfulness is rare, their actions left a lasting impression on me. Whenever I return to Lauterbrunnen, there’s no question—I’ll be staying at Hotel Steinbock again and again.

The Alpenblick hotel is a family business, situated about 600 metres from the centre of Grindelwald, right at the ski slope and a bus stop, and offers nice rooms and tasty food.

In the restaurant and on the sunny terrace guests can select from fresh hot sandwiches, steaks, salads and desserts. Cheese fondue is available as well. Good view but very convenient, bus stop just in front of the hotel

The location was incredible, the room was so comfy and excellent breakfast! I was not expecting a lake view but upon entering my room there it was! So beautiful :) Honestly one of the best places I’ve ever stayed :) If I’m ever back in Iseltwald I will definitely come back here again

This pet-friendly inn also has free WiFi. Extremely friendly and hospitable hosts. They are not intrusive, but attentive. For me, it was very positive, unusual in hospitality. Great, plentiful breakfast, the room was as advertised, fine.
