This location is STUNNING - high on a hill top, overlooking the incredible mountains. The hotel is beautiful, clean, modern and I can't honestly say anything negative about it. Our host helped organise taxis and used whatsapp audio to send us information which was brilliant. In the shared area there is a water fountain to use, free muffins and access to tea and coffee. The bedrooms are lovely, a TV, air con and an incredibly comfortable bed. There is a sun terrace that is great - great views with a couple of sun loungers to use.

Αυτός ο ευχάριστος και μοντέρνος ξενώνας βρίσκεται στο κέντρο της πόλης, 250μ. από την παραλία Conil de la Frontera. The Alojado de Velarde hotel is a hidden gem in Conil de la Frontera. The hotel stands in a house that was built in 1780 and it has been fully renovated, maintaining the distinct architectural features of the time. We had a room upstairs, with two small balconies. Although there is a bar right outside which opens at night, the two balconies had double doors with thick window panes and blackout curtains so with a bit of help from the AC (very modern unit too), it was very easy to fall asleep without the noise from outside. The location is superb. We drove and, despite having no issues, the streets are extremely narrow and there is no parking nearby as you would have elsewhere. Instead, there is free public parking near the boardwalk. The hotel staff recommended unloading the car and then parking down there. We did that and had no issue. It's a 10 min walk (albeit slightly uphill). In the end, because we walked from the hotel to the beach and back several times a day, upon checking out we decided to just walk down with our luggage rather than moving the car through those very narrow streets. In terms of food and things to see, the hotel is in the historic part of town. There are cafes, restaurants and little shops with cute (not tacky trinkets) things and beach attire every few steps. The room was very spacious and comfortable, very modern in its design. It was cleaned daily. The shower was excellent: great water pressure and very hot. Perfect after a long day at the beach. The staff was also another high point. Warm and savvy, they truly took care of us. Will definitely return.

Our stay at number 9 was an absolute pleasure. The property has been beautifully renovated to retain its character but with a modern twist. It is spotlessly clean and everything from the soft towels, the comfortable bed, and the cool room, to the coffee in the communal area were perfect! The hosts Alicia and Frederico were warm and welcoming, offering advice on where to go in Medina. We already had a plan to take a picnic to the castle for sunset but were offered the use of the roof terrace to enjoy our picnic and bubbles rather than carry it to the castle. The roof terrace was picture perfect. They has set it up beautifully, so that after our walk to the castle to enjoy a magical sunset, we could relax, eat, drink and enjoy the night sky views. Our room was the smallest available but we did not feel at all cramped, it had sufficient space to be comfortable for our short stay. It was quiet and cool and the ensuite bathroom was a good size. Medina is a picturesque, quiet relaxing town with bars and restaurants in the square and several historical features and magnificent 360 views from the castle. We will definitely return for another stay and maybe use it as a base to explore surrounding areas such as Cadiz, Jerez and Vejer de la Frontera. Thank you Alicia and Frederico. xx
