My trip to the Amalfi Coast was inspired by two books I read so long ago I can barely recall their storylines, but the spirit of the place stuck in my imagination like glue. Naturally, my expectations were high. Perched between two rocks with a panoramic terrace overlooking Amalfi, Villa Annalara is the quintessential Amalfi hideaway. Ideally located, close to the port, town centre, hiking trails, and the charming paper museum, yet far and high enough to be a tranquil retreat from the bustle below. While the elevator offers welcome convenience when carrying luggage, nothing can beat the stairs if you’re up for a more authentic experience. Though demanding, especially after a day conquering Amalfi’s endless steps, they reward you with breathtaking views, scents of citrus and wildflowers, and a rare, enveloping serenity. I spent six nights here during Holy Week in the Ginestra room which was welcoming, spacious, clean and equipped with everything I needed for a perfect stay. The villa itself is lovely, but it’s Salvatore who gives it its soul, turning it into a place I instinctively started calling home after just a day. His kindness and effortless balance between warmth and discretion makes staying here unforgettable. Salvatore knows this place like no one else and was always generous with advice, tips, and a helping hand — whether it was a cancelled ferry, a sudden change of plans, or the best bus to catch. Thanks to his tireless persistence, I even made it to Capri against all odds, which was no small feat on a day I also had to reach Rome. A simple 10 can’t begin to do Salvatore justice; his hospitality creates an experience you will fondly remember. I’ll be back one day and there’s nowhere else I’d rather stay. It met every high expectation those long-forgotten books planted in my mind, and then effortlessly surpassed them in ways I didn't even expect.

EVERYTHING. The host is a super friendly and helpful young man. The holiday house ABSOLUTELY looks 100% same as the photos, if not better (actually the renovation as of now looks even better than the photos). The holiday is really large with three bathrooms and two sleeping rooms with large beds, all with different styles and really really comfortable. And the terrace with a swing, watching the sea view outside is the best experience I’ve had.

We were lucky enough to be in room 206 which was breathtaking. The balcony area and views were spectacular. The pool was clean with plenty of sun loungers and the bar served the most delicious cocktails. After a few mishaps, the manager Baldo and receptionist Raffaella quickly resolved our issues and made the whole stay enjoyable. All the staff are welcoming and speak fantastic English. The hotel is in walking distance of some great local restaurants (much cheaper than larger tourist areas) and the car park has plenty of space. We hired a car so we could tour parts of the Almafi coast but always enjoyed coming back to Agerola, which was quieter and very peaceful. The breakfast had lots of variety and we stayed for lunch one day which was better than some restaurants we visited in the larger towns! We would definitely stay here again

I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel! The view was simply breathtaking, and everything was spotlessly clean and well-maintained—both inside and outside. The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The breakfast was delicious and a perfect start to the day. Everything about my stay was fantastic, and I honestly have nothing to complain about. I truly hope I get the chance to come back one day!
