This was the most memorable stay on my Japan trip. The host was very lovely and welcoming. The chef prepared maybe the best vegan meals I’ve had on this trip. And, of course, the tea served with meals is excellent! I even tried the hot tea bath that was available each night. Also, the host has lived in the US so you don’t need to worry about a language barrier. I didn’t get to do the tea tours that were offered because I’d already booked one with Obubu Tea Farms, but will definitely take them up on the offer next time. If I’m ever back in the area, I will stay again!

The quadruple room with private onsen was amazing, the decor is very calming, and we really enjoyed the outdoor onsen experience. Everything was great. I found the bed comfortable however my partner not as much so I guess it can vary. The coffee in the room was good and the soft drink, beer and cookies were a nice touch.

This is a very large property with lots of space for a family. It’s Japanese style but there are also western style beds if you prefer. The owner is very kind and left many snacks and food for us to enjoy. She is an excellent communicator. The location is perfect - right next to Nara station

Incredible modern kaiseki dining experience, beautiful room with very comfortable beds, and an amazing setting with our in-room onsen looking out at the bamboo garden. Our experience here was top-notch and worth every penny. Would not hesitate to stay here again on our next visit to Japan.

This gem may be located a bit further from the main attractions of Nara Park, but it is without a doubt worth the visit. Finally, a truly luxurious five-star hotel. The hotel's delightful aesthetics, incredibly comfortable rooms, outstanding cuisine, and wonderful spa are just a few highlights of the exceptional experience. However, what truly sets this hotel apart is the remarkable team of professionals who go above and beyond to make every guest feel welcome and taken care of. We had the pleasure of returning to Nara after 18 years, and the staff had prepared a thoughtful welcome note and even surprised us with a complimentary dessert dish for breakfast, accompanied by a note. The front desk staff were attentive to our every request, question, and need, always going the extra mile to ensure our satisfaction. They provided us with fantastic suggestions that were off the beaten path, beyond what one could find in travel guides, and their recommendations for local restaurants were top-notch. Additionally, we are immensely grateful that we were able to find refuge at the Marriott Nara during Typhoon Lan. Throughout the entire ordeal, we felt safe and well-cared for. A beautiful location. Rriver view is outstanding! During cherry blossoms, it should be absolutely magical. The room is a great combination of a traditional ryokan and a modern hotel, has everything you need for comfortable stay. The staff is friendly and helpful. We also were allowed to leave our luggage before check-in. We visited public baths and liked it.

1. the location is perfect, super close to the metro station Shichijo, within reach of the most popular area of Kyoto while retaining its calm neighborhood. 2. the house if FULLY equipped with all the useful facilities and amenities: bathtub, Japanese toilet, modern kitchen and kitchenware...etc 3. the space is enormous, it can contain up to 10 people in the house or even more. Furthermore, the outside parking area is unbelievably huge. You can station up to two cars or even a mini-van will fit easily. 4. the famous river Kamogawa is just outside of the French window, you get to enjoy the view of its night and daytime. 5. all the major windows have fully functional shutter, no worries for privacy. 6. huge smart TV with inbuilt Netflix and Youtube, also Japanese local TV channels at your disposal. 7. comfy furniture and beds. 8. insanely numerous closets to store your coats and clothes. 9. last but not least, the washing machine. 10. very decent cost-performance ratio, you will have to double your budget for the same housing spec if it is to find a similar alternative.

The accommodations were very comfortable. The staff was helpful and friendly. We had dinner at the hotel. The food was presented and prepared well. Some things were unusual for us to try and we had mixed feelings about whether we enjoyed them, but it was our first authentic Japanese dinner. We would highly recommend the hotel.
