The farm stay features family rooms as well as facilities for disabled guests. The two hosts were fantastic, they made us feel right at home! Upon check-in, the owner gave us a tour of the entire hotel and explained the story behind their business and their family. Had some lovely talks with both of them throughout our stay and I loved all the personal touches they added to the decor of the hotel. They were extremely accommodating and even let us put a few groceries in their fridge. We made our own dinner in the shared kitchen and enjoyed it on the outside terrace while watching the sunset behind the mountains. The surroundings were peaceful and offered the most beautiful views. We even watched a wild fox come and play with their dog!! The kitchen was clean and fully stocked with all of the equipment you need. Breakfast was superb, they offered a wide variety of meats, cheese, cereal, fruit and even fresh bread baked by the owner's wife. Our room was spacious, had a separate/private entrace, large bathroom and even included an extremely comfortable couch to relax on. Their service and hospitality was our favourite part. This was the best stay in all of Iceland, and we are so happy to have met the hosts!

Although it is on the small side they have done an excellent job of making everything as comfortable as possible. Everything is well thought out and made for a comfortable 1 night stay. Loved the duck lamp!

Exceptional location overlooking the fiords and the town. Very nice host who came over to check all was good as we arrived in the middle of a storm. And he also brought chocolate cookies as a welcome gift! I would definitely recommend this place. You can really see that this cottage is cured with love by the owner.

International dishes are served at Lake Hotel Egilsstadir's in-house restaurant. Guests have access to a communal lounge with a computer and newspapers. The staff was super friendly and helpful. It was clean, they had good drinks and the spa was quiet and not crowded at all. They also had a washing machine and dryer you could use for free. We went here in the middle of July.
