Not only was the breakfast the best food we had in Iceland with a great variety of fresh dishes, the location of the hotel is unique (our room had a view to the lush green mountains that are incredibly scenic), the staff was extremely kind and attentive (with a special shout out to the Portuguese gentleman) and facilities makes you stay for a longer period of time (i.e., Spa, thermal baths, ice showers and relaxation rooms overlooking the glaciers and giving an great sense of calmness and relaxation). Providing a restaurant, the property also has a garden, as well as a sauna and a hot tub. The accommodation features evening entertainment and a tour desk. I loved the responsiveness and friendliness of the staff. Even before I arrived in iceland, they responded to my queries in a timely manner and also never made me feel like my questions were trivial.

Some of the units have a satellite flat-screen TV, a fully equipped kitchenette with a dishwasher, and a private bathroom with a walk-in shower and a hair dryer. At the apartment complex, some units are soundproof. The location is great, having a great view of both the waterfall behind the property and the ocean while relaxing in the hot tub. The rooms are lovely with a large communal kitchen. If I could go back in time I'd have based more of my trip out of here. The rooms were much nicer than we expected based on the price and frankly it was a better night than the hotel twice the price down the road.

Deluxe Rooms and Suites have a seating area where you can relax. Suites also feature a large panoramic window and a bathroom with a bath tub or a walk-in shower. Executive suites feature a balcony with a private hot tub and a king size bed. No kettle in the room, but can ask for one. Love the hot tub during sunset. Room is clean and comfortable. Location is good since we need to drive early for ice cave tour.

Árbakki Farmhouse Lodge offers a hot spring bath and free private parking, and is within 18 km of Geysir and 28 km of Gullfoss Waterfall. Featuring a shared kitchen, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. Guests can make use of the sun terrace or the children's playground, or enjoy views of the mountain and river. Lovely stay and Anna was very helpful to guide us to the nearby attractions. Highly recommend.

The family-owned Hótel Lækur is set on an Icelandic horse farm, between the Golden Circle and the south coast. Hella is 10 minutes’ drive away. It offers a sun terrace and a guest lounge.

The communal dining room features tea/coffee making facilities and a microwave. This was a very comfortable stay. Wonderful hospitality and very nice breakfast buffet, including make your own waffles. The beds were very comfortable. I also really enjoyed the authentic barrel sauna every evening, as well as the hot tub/ jacuzzi. The place was spotless and peaceful out in nature. The hosts clearly care about their guests having a good experience. Also appreciated the thoughtful touch of a handbook containing various scenic destinations in the region. Thank you so much!!

This hotel is set on a farm within the Golden Circle Region, 15 minutes’ drive from Gulfoss Waterfall and Geysir hot water springs. It offers horse riding during the summer season, traditional cooking and a geothermal outdoor hot tub. Cute and cozy place. Great restaurant on site where you can eat with the cows and see cute kitties. Great location close to tons of sites on the golden circle!
