Lovely hotel with stunning view of Mt Fuji over the lake. Even when Mt Fuji was hiding there was still the lake view. We had French dinner the first night and beef shabu-shabu the second. Wonderful dinners. Would definitely recommend the hotel and dinners.

My stay at Dark Horse was one of the best I have had in my whole 1 month trip to Japan. The house is very warm and welcoming, you feel like you are living at a friends’ house. We have never experienced this kind of luxury in our lives….. this place and environment totally blew our minds! We had te luxury to stay in the villa, and exceeded all our expectations. The views, the pool, the sauna, the hotspring tub, the fireplace, the BBQ… it was more than enough to really end our holiday totally relaxed! We were supposed to go to Tokyo the last 3 days of our holiday, but we where glad that we canceled that, and went to Shikuoka instead! The falls and wasabi fields and hikes nearby were great excursions, and then come back to the villa was a real dream! Also there were no other guests, so we had the whole place for ourselves….
