We loved the attention to detail, especially the vintage record player with Japanese vinyls and how well stocked the kitchen was (oil, spices, rice, coffee etc. - the best we had in Japan!). Staff was very accommodating. Very spacious, perfect for our group. We had to change the group size due to a mistake of our own and it was very easy to resolve, thank you for that. We had a great time!

This is a very large property with lots of space for a family. It’s Japanese style but there are also western style beds if you prefer. The owner is very kind and left many snacks and food for us to enjoy. She is an excellent communicator. The location is perfect - right next to Nara station

10 mins drive away from Nara Park, quiet little house away from the crowd. Clean and comfortable with free use of its facilities. The host is accommodating and even provides recommendations on food around the area. He speaks good English, so communication is easy. As we are unable to reserve a slot at the strawberry farm over the phone, he did so willingly despite being outstation in Tokyo. We had a good stay in this peaceful and lovely house.

This was our favorite place on our trip to Japan. We regret not spending more time there. The temple is sublime. Communication with the owner was very pleasant. An ideal place for a retreat to recharge your batteries.

Our stay here was a highlight of our trip to Japan. We loved everything about it. The location was beautiful, charming, and authentic. We loved our stay with the exceptionally kind and helpful couple. It’s a remote village up a steep mountain road, with a great bar next door! The food was delicious. We enjoyed chatting to the hosts. We had a trip to Mt Koyasan and got drenched in a rain storm. The kind hosts dried our shoes in a special Japanese machine!

The staff were very polite and friendly. The room we stayed in was spacious for our family of 5 and we really liked the Japanese experiences that we had at Hotel New Wakasa. The rooftop sitting area is lovely.
