United KingdomThe rustic charm and quirkiness of the treehouse exceeded expectations. The staff we’re fantastic and took us on a private safari in Udawalawe (about 25 minutes away) where we got so close to the elephants. They also arranged a guided canoe trip on the nearby lake - sadly no bathing elephants this time but plenty of other wildlife to see.
The evening meal we had there was perhaps the best curry I have ever eaten and all of this at exceptionally good prices.
We spoke to several people who went to Yala and spent far more, saw far less and didn’t seem get anywhere near the experience we did.
