Affordable and the fact that this was the only hotel that had two large double sized beds. All other hotels it was almost impossible to stay with two adults and two kids in one room. This was a big plus for us, the room was big and spacious. The beds were okay, but could be even better if they had a 2 inch mattress topper for each bed for added comfort, otherwise it was a bit hard to sleep on. The pool was nice, good temperature and good size. There was a huge Supermarket within 5 min walking distance, close to a Market too which is across the street from the large Formosa Supermarkt. There would usually always be a taxi just outside the hotel, but overall (Uber) is the way to go (except) that usually we always got a tiny car to move around.

Good location in a safe area. walking distance to the main sights. Rooms are big. There is a nice pool in the garden, though I didn’t use it. The breakfast was good breakfast, there’s friendly staff and a good restaurant. Actually everything a traveller could wish for!

    Incredibly well preserved working theater in the heart of...

    Incredibly well preserved working theater in the heart of Belem. Go early to secure a ticket. I was lucky as there was an English speaking guide during my visit and I got a one on one tour. Theater is spectacular and well worth a visit.

    This grand theater was designed and built during the Brazilian rubber boom of the mid 19th century as a show piece of wealth by the Brazilian rubber barons who were then the sole source of rubber in the world. English tours are not always available. We finally settled on a Portuguese language tour as you can't get inside on your own. Our tour group consisted of largely student-aged couples, some of whom spoke the English the tour guide lacked. After the tour they happily answered several of our questions.
