The location is excellent for Central London. The staff were the stars - literally nothing was too much trouble for them, and they were always checking that all was exactly as we wanted it. The rooms were lovely, and the beds sooo comfortable. Christmas lunch was understandably expensive, being 7 courses in a top restaurant, but for the most part was really lovely, A booking at the American Bar for Christmas Eve with a group of family and friends was an outstanding addition to the stay.

Beautiful rooms and elegant hotel with a modern spin. Friendly and professional staff. Great location, but well designed so you don't realise you are in the center of London until you walk out of the hotel door. My 4th stay at the Londoner and it has become a firm favourite and a special treat when I am in London.

British Museum

As Great Britain’s Empire expanded, so did its cache of material treasures – many of which are on display in this world-class museum. Among its eight million exhibits, you'll find the stunning Elgin Marbles from Greece, the Benin Bronzes and the legendary Rosetta Stone. The Reading Room stands at its heart and is spectacular in size and scope.

This is a fabulous museum, and takes more than a day to see.

This is a fabulous museum, and takes more than a day to see. We paid for an early tour, which was nice, but perhaps unnecessary. It was a fairly crowded Saturday in September, but it's so big viewers are able to spread out. Not sure what it would be like in the summer. I would love to go back and allow for 3 shorter days. We were exhausted after 8 hour.

Get a guided tour.

Get a guided tour. I normally like to explore places under my own steam. However I have missed so much in this incredible museum before my American Cousin persuaded me to join her on a tour! Also sometimes retired professors do free mini tours of their chosen subject. I enjoyed a fascinating tour of the Elgin/Parthanon marbles

We were overwhelmed by the number of noisy visitors first thing in the morning. It was not a warm day but it was very stuffy and there was no air flow through a lot of the galleries. The information tags on some of the exhibits were poorly placed and very difficult to read unless you were right up close.

Pre-book a ticket or go on a late opening evening ( The queues can be very long). The Egyptian /Assyrian statues and monuments are spectacular ,asare the controversial Elgin marbles. For intrinsic British exhibits, Roman Britain is fascinating. The reading room is hosting an exhibition at the moment. A very interesting space set in The Great Court. Top tip _ don't try to see everything in one visit. Plan and Prioritize!! Top Tip:

Great location near to stations, shops and British Museum. Quiet street but lots of shops and restaurants within a few minutes walk. Excellent finish from the stone staircase with thick carpeted runner to the decor and facilities in the room. While compact our room had everything we needed: comfortable bed, kitchenette with dining table and chairs, excellent shower, even a huge window which opened to allow lots of fresh air.

Great stay at Zedwell Underground Hotel Tottenham Court Rd. The room was clean and cozy, with all the essentials. The location is very convenient for sightseeing and public transport, and it’s very close to the British Museum, which allowed us to visit three times in just two days. Staff was polite and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!

The location close to the West End, Covent Garden and British Museum - all within walkin distance. The attitude and friendliness of the host. The kitchen was well equipped and the bathroom much larger than in most moderate hotels, with a decent stall shower (no climbing in and out of a slippery bathtub - tyoical in UK), and mixing taps.
