The place had a cozy, stylish, and modern vibe—something between a hotel and an apartment, with a unique two-floor room layout that made it feel extra special. The location was excellent, within walking distance to shops, sightseeing spots, and everything you’d want to explore. The staff were incredibly kind and responsive, making us feel very welcome throughout our stay. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. There were lots of fun and thoughtful extras, like an acoustic guitar, a vinyl player with a Bluetooth speaker, and even a “shower beer” compartment (for an extra charge). We also really enjoyed the beer keg in the room—£40 well spent! The breakfast was rich and delicious, and overall the stay felt like great value for money. Little touches made it even more memorable, like playing rock-paper-scissors with the bartender to win a dessert, and getting a beer token for reusing towels to help save the environment. Loved it!

Calton Hill

Calton Hill is home to a clutch of eclectic Edinburgh monuments. Originally set aside as an open area for the townsfolk to practise sport and tournaments, it’s now a stunning city park with both sweeping vistas and historical clout. Head to the Nelson Monument and the Dugald Stewart Monument to gaze on some iconic Scottish architecture.

Good location within short walking distance of both coach and train stations. Friendly welcoming staff. Decent sized twin room, en suite with shower, tea and coffee and fridge. Great choice of breakfasts. Full Scottish, American pancakes, salmon and poached eggs, continental options. Lounge bar with a decent stock of spirits. The hotel is well placed for the shops, bars, restaurants etc. The /old town, castle etc, is about a 20 minute walk. The views from nearby Calton hill are spectacular.
