I think I’ve already sent this in? but happy to reiterate . The location is unrivalled - directly opposite the cathedral in the oldest part of town. Marvellous full English breakfast and very helpful staff. While Spartanly furnished, the room was very comfortable, accessible by lift ( a godsend); and anything we needed - eg a hairdryer and ironing facilities - were available when we asked. Parking on the grounds was plentiful as well.

Beautiful quirky historical inn over a pub, really lovely and typical English experience. Exactly what we were hoping for on our day out to the countryside. We didn't have time to stay for breakfast so the staff helped us get some snacks to go!

Joseph greeted us on reception and was wonderful; kind and professional and managed the details for us. The little drink treats in the room were such a lovely surprise. Breakfast was good - staff were not communicative but did their jobs. We will definitely come again!!

I confess that the idea of having to pay for entry into a church has always seemed off-putting. However; Salisbury Cathedral is a genuinely fascinating building and distinctive among cathedrals for it's tall spire. Furthermore it houses the Magna Carta (one of 4 remaining original copies) and even the Refectory (restaurant) was lovely. We spent quite a few hours looking at it all and I now have to re-assess my opinion of paying for entry into a church. TL/DR: You should probably visit.

    Great cathedral to visit.

Great cathedral to visit. Would recommend to take the trip up in ceiling and tower, you get a great perspective on how it was built. Wonderful views of the area at the top. Also make time to have lunch or bowl of soup from the cathedral cafe, sit out in the cathedral court yard enjoying the quiet and the surroundings. Nice place to visit

The Cathedral is a "must-see" on a visit to Salisbury.

The Cathedral is a "must-see" on a visit to Salisbury. There's so much of religious interest, including the spectacular modern font, as well as the many features of historical interest in the building's 800+ year history, the highlight of which must be the Magna Carta. The £11 entrance fee allows you at least one free return visit within a year 😊

    Fantastic Place.

Fantastic Place. So glad we returned to Salisbury thirty years later for a tour. Make reservations for the tower tour! My husband Sam thought it was the pinnacle of our entire three week trip! Do not miss the cleanest clearest remaining copy of the Magna Carta displayed in this cathedral that until the 1950s was just "lying around" the offices. It was not known to be valuable back in that era.. It had very tiny writing, but was definitely legible. So thankful it was preserved.

Free entry during a service, but you do not get access to the whole cathedral. Outside of the cathedral is free at all times of the day. Parking is £8 all day, but you can find cheaper parking elsewhere but still within walking distance of the cathedral. If you do pay to go into the cathedral, make sure you visit the chapter room, which contains the only surviving copy of the original Magna Carta.

The hotel is in a excellent location for shops, restaurants and Salisbury cathedral. We managed to find a space in the car park behind the hotel (pay for 24 hours at reception for a reduced charge). The staff were helpful. Room was adequate and clean.

Our room in Sarum College was clean and comfortable with a delicious cooked breakfast included in the price. The location was excellent as literally over the road from the beautiful Salisbury Cathedral and we were able to park on-site as well though evidently that may not happen when the College is busier.

Great location for Salisbury and nearby attractions such as Salisbury Cathedral and Stonehenge. Friendly staff and bright/clean decor. We had an evening meal in the hotel restaurant and this was excellent. Car parking was also available with the hotel which was a significant benefit.

Absolutely stunning place. My room was amazing. Full of character, and beautifully presented. My bed was extremely comfortable with crisp white sheets and soft pillows. The room was spotless. I also loved the higgledy-piggledy nature of the whole hotel including wonky stairs showing their 500 years of use and beams everywhere. Directly across from the hotel was the entry into the close around Salisbury cathedral. It was wonderful to go for a walk there before breakfast, alone with just the odd local jogger. I will come back!

We enjoyed our stay the Chapter House. We really appreciated the history of the hotel and the staff were excellent. The housekeeping staff were amazing and helped us with our bags up and down the stairs. The location was great, a short walk from lots of charity shops and Salisbury Cathedral. Though the rooms are located above a pub, we could not hear any noise from downstairs despite being on the first floor. The options on the cooked breakfast form were great and delicious.

If you can tolerate endless, somewhat claustrophobic spiral staircases, the Salisbury Cathedral special tower tour is well worth it. You'll get a serious and scholarly look at medieval construction from the inside.
