United StatesLoved the location a nice walk to Semuc Champey (but the walk back is uphill, so I wish I took a pickup back). The owner Manuel is great, really helpful and knowledgeable. He pointed out all the types of plants, (coffee, cacao, and spices) as he drove us from the shuttle dropoff spot to the hostel in his pickup. Ask him about the cave at the hostel.
The other staff are also great. Whenever anyone ordered food or a shuttle, the guys working knew everyone's names without asking and never mixed up the tabs.
The mattress in the 8 bed dorm was nice, didn't feel any springs. The showers are cold, so take it when you're extra sweaty. The buildings are basic and have metal roofs, which was the first time I stayed in a place with that. It gets hot in the middle of the day, so go out and enjoy the nature instead! The power went out my last day during the day, but by dinnertime they got a generator working. Food is good portions and less pricey than I expected after being in El Paredon a few days prior.

Please please please do not wear sunscreen if you plan on getting in the water and bring a reusable bottle that you can refill to avoid buying more plastic which doesn't get recycled and ends up in landfills.

The hotel has more of an "hostel" vibe, but it was still family friendly, with all music and noise stopping at 10:00pm. The staff was really nice and halpful. We did the Semuc Champey tour with them and it was very well organized. The food and drinks were amazing.

Simple and basic amenities. There are no lockers inside the shared rooms. There is running water, but there is only one temperature- cold (really good after a long, hot day at Semuc Champey). The river is right next to the property, and was cold and refreshing (beware of the mosquitoes at sunrise and sunset). There was a truck waiting at the shuttle drop off spot to bring us to the hotel, and the truck brought us back to the drop off spot when it was time to go!

The room was big, with an amazing bed and pillows. The breakfast included was delicious.
The pool looked a bit dirty, but they said it was because of the season. The location it is a bit far from the main town Lanquin, which is not so pretty.
It is a place to go to relax just in the hotel. You can visit the Semuc Champey reserve and enjoy the natural pools, which were amazing.

The staff, Werner, and his sister are very nice. We booked our tour to Semuc Champey through the hotel. We had a great packed lunch, and David, our guide, was great. They have warm showers. Easy 5 minute walk to the shuttles.

The rooms are great value for money, and the food at the restaurant is also super cheap! I booked a tour through the accommodation for 200Q and we had a much smaller group tour than people who had booked through other hostels - David is also a fantastic tour guide and was very conscious of us staying safe at Semuc Champey. I was also picked up from the bus station for free, and there is a hot water shower there. I had two fans in my room and the bed was comfortable. The wifi was also a lot better than I expected for Lanquin

This is a fairly large hotel/hostel in a beautiful location just 15 minutes walk from the entrance of Semuc Champey (don't believe Google Maps!) Staff was great, very helpful with any needed arrangements. Food and drink was of good quality, atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. Lots of appealing chill spaces to lounge in. Our private room and shared baths were clean and comfortable.

Great hotel/hostel with amazing (and reasonable priced) food and very friendly/helpful staff! It was easy to organise a tour to Semuc Champey with them as well as the shuttle to any other place. They also have a complementary pick up from the bus station.

The property is in a beautiful location right on the river. it’s a two minute walk to the entrance of Semuc Champey so there’s no need to shuttle from Lanquin in the morning. Also since Semuc Champey is so close to hostel you can beat the crowds to the park and get an hour or two pretty much by yourself.

Nice place out on the road to Semuc Champey, they will come pick you up at the car park where the shuttle buses stop in Lanquin(people from all the hostels and hotels are waiting there to pick up their guests). About a 40 minute steep walk down (then back up) from Semuc Champey, don't worry if you don't want to walk back, there's plenty of vehicles there to give you a lift. Friendly staff and pretty decent food available. They can also book your onwards shuttle here.
