Everything. The hotel room, our private onsen, the public spa and onsen, the gym, the fact that the hotel is nearby a river with a waterfall. It makes for an excellent private onsen experience in my opinion. Never had anything like this before!

The hotel was a delight. Its location is excellent—just steps from Gora Station and very close to the Open-Air Museum. Inside, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, with thoughtful attention to detail throughout. We enjoyed outstanding breakfast and dinner, as well as a cozy coffee corner with treats in the beautifully designed library. Comfortable seating areas and a pampering overall experience made our stay truly special.

Everything! From the staff who were above and beyond throughout the stay, to the amazing Japanese dinner and breakfast served, to the hot springs facilities, this was an outstanding stay. Hotel even arranged for an in-room massage service when the resort spa was closed. We didn’t leave the property at all from check-in to check-out, but it’s a short walk away from Gora station and a very convenient base for Hakone.

This property is amazingly located right near Gora station and has easy access for all Hakone related activities. The house itself is beautiful, great finishing touches and the rooms in the Japanese style are fun. Having a check out time of noon on our departure date was also very helpful.

Family of 4 with 2 kids. Both our boys enjoyed the stay just as much as us. Great salad options for breakfast, not a huge variety as is a boutique hotel but everything served are delicious. Love the all day free drinks bar and spacious lounge area. There is free shuttle to and from Gora station. The free laundry service is great. Room is beautiful and bed is comfy. Staff are friendly and helpful.

The rooms are large if you choose the ones with tatami area, large beds and outdoor bath. The kaiseki dinner and breakfast were quite elaborate and I assume part of the reason for the high cost of a one-night stay. The hotel is just around the corner from Gora Station so it’s a good location for getting around the area. Liked the robes and pajamas they provide (although the slippers are very small). Everyone wore them all around the property - even to dinner.

Location is 1 minute from the Gora station, immediate access to the cable car, the Hakone ropeway to the lake, 1 train stop away from the Hakone Open Air Museum. This hotel has an onsen which allows tattoos (a rarity).

Great value for the money, large tatami room with seating area and balcony in the mountains. Very relaxing and nice female/male divided onsen. Compared to the amount we spent on other hotels in Japan, this was a great choice for a large room in a convenient location near Gora station and cable car.

Private onsen was great. Common room with fire was a lovely place to relax in the evening with fellow guests. Shuttle bus to Gora station in the morning was appreciated given the hike to the station. Easy to follow instructions to get the bus to the hotel. We didn’t find the futon beds in the Japanese style room that comfortable but were happy to have experienced it.
