Great location, close to Miyajima toori and omotesando shopping street. One of the hiking routes that leads up to mt Misen was also not far (as well as the way to the ropeway). The hotel had a shuttle bus to and from the ferry terminal with a friendly driver - this was very valuable for us, as we did not have to carry our luggages through the crowded streets. The dinner was great with lots of local specialities that we could try out.

Very spacious room and comfortable bed. Lots of freebies in the room including tea and coffee. Olsen had a great view across the bay. Lounge with complimentary cold and hot drinks and ice cream. Location is fight next to the ferry and the town. Perfect hotel.

A hotel that feels like a 5* resort in a stunning setting. I have loved every single second at Aki Grand Hotel : service was kind and personalised, room was clean, comfortable and with a beautiful view over the sea and the giant tori, dinner and breakfast were very good too. I was impressed by the different onsen in the hotel, but completely mesmerised by the private onsen. I strongly recommend anyone coming to this hotel to book it for a little extra, because it might be one of the highlight of your trip! I had also booked a night cruise, and the boat brings you very close to the tori which I found magical. I didn't use the outdoor pool but it looks fun and was busy yet not too crowded. It opens from mid-July until end of August, until 5pm, no cap needed. The hotel is sophisticated but has a delightful relaxing family feeling so that you directly feel at ease. My only regret was that, due to obon holidays, I couldn't book more than one night. I would 100% come back for longer in a future trip.

There were so many facilities included and conveniences such as vending machines on our floor and a shop next to reception. Our room was very large compared to most hotel rooms in Japan and had beautiful views looking over towards the water, we could even see the Itsukushima Shrine Otorii Gate. Our room also had a private onsen on the balcony which was an awesome inclusion!

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Sakuraya. The hotel's location is unbeatable, offering both sea view and mountain view rooms; we enjoyed a mountain view room with a glimpse of the sea. It's a short walk to the Itsukushima Shrine, the ropeway, shops, restaurants, and the ferry station. The amazing staff were very helpful, providing great recommendations for places to see and eat. We ordered breakfast, which was both tasty and generously portioned. Overall, it was one of the best places we stayed during our trip. Highly recommended!

The Japanese breakfast was excellent and the staff were so very helpful and friendly. The location is very good, close to the Itsukushima Shrine, the shops and food and the Miyajima Aquarium to name a few. The goemon baths were a great bonus!

The location is fantastic, very close to the Itsukushima Shrine and the Tori gate. All the other main activities and points of interest can also be reached in a matter of minutes. Service was great, as the staff is very kind, welcoming and the free shuttle service from the ferry port to the hotel was very much appreciated. The room was very comfortable and the wifi is good. Also the onsen is a nice addition.

Great experience overall. They have a shuttle that brings you to and from the ferry terminal. The hotel is situated just behind the Itsukushima Shrine, giving you the opportunity to go there early in the morning before the crowds arrive. The room was comfortable, they have the choice of western-style or Japanese-style rooms. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. They catered attentively to our gluten-free needs.

Shuttle bus between Miyajimaguchi station and the hotel. Evening boat cruise from the hotel pier to the "floating torii at Itsukushima Shrine. Tasty and light pasta dinner at the western restaurant on premise. Hospitable and friendly staff. Spacious room.

Everything was spectacular… our room had a magical view in the Torii gate and the Itsukushima shrine. The staff was amazingly kind and attentive, the smallest detail was taken into account even nefore we thought of it, and the Japanese breakfast was amazing. Best ryokan we stayed at in Japan!

Incredible place to stay. Recommend the terrace bar in the evening for views of Itsukushima shrine. Traditional Japanese breakfast and lots of it. Remarkably attentive staff. Absolute top quality.

Best stay of our journey. Family operated accomodation. Great hosts, welcoming us warmly and introducing us to Japanese cuisine and culture. Traditional rooms and delicious food. Located close to the ferry terminal and short walk away from Itsukushima shrine with its red torii in the water and the cable car station to Mount Misen. If you're lucky, you will see some deer close to the accomodation.
