I liked everything about this hotel! It is in a calm area yet close to all the "must-see and must-experience" sights in Kyoto. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and the bakery and workspace downstairs made my day! Don't forget to finish your long day at the rooftop bar in front of a cosy fireplace, sipping Negroni and enjoying the moment.

The hotel was beautiful, our room was spacious and clean. The location was also perfect - a metro stop away from the Railway station and a walking distance from the city center and many tourist attractions. We were highly impressed by the kindness of the hotel staff and management. We had additional requests about the organization of our trip and they were willing to advise and help us. What a little gem this is, a beautiful room that is classy and really huge, beautiful view of the Kamo river, you are close to a lot of interesting places. Love to take a night stroll around the area. I have been in Kyoto 3 times, and this is the best hotel by far. Staffs speak good english and really friendly

One of the best hotels we’ve stayed in. The staff were fantastic and couldn’t do enough for you. Facilities were brilliant, loved the free hot or cold drinks and ice lollies. But the best perk was the daily drink on the rooftop with a foot spa and a view of Kyoto. The onsen was amazing, so clean and had everything you need, one with the view was our favourite and it’s great this is rotated between men and women each day. Room was comfy but on the smaller side.

We went there just before the golden week began and it...

We went there just before the golden week began and it really wasnt crowded at all! Great place to experience a more 'serene' (its a tourist attraction after all) and calm kyoto with the various small beautiful buildings on the grounds. I have to admit there is not a lot to see overall so if you want more indepth information i recommend going somewhere else - 600¥ is also a bit higher than usual but if you want to take a break of crowded kyoto thats the place! Good sanitary facilities and a small teahouse with the typical green tea and sweets at the end. The small shrine in front is also worth visiting with a very nice stairway from the streets from kyoto and a small ice cream booth (matcha ice is recommended). the surroundings are also worth checking out with another nice buddhist temple and traditional vendor's streets close by. Don't forget checking out the small bamboo grove on the tour walk-through! 4/5 stars would come back.
