AustraliaThe location of the hotel is excellent! It is close to the local buses that take you to all the tourist destinations. It is a short walk distance from the JR Station of Nikko as well. I also love how there's a simple free breakfast every morning! The staff were really helpful and lovely.

AustraliaThe onsen on the verandah of the room was amazing at the end of a long day of walking. The hotel is a little unusual, by western standards, but the staff are great, the room comfortable and Nikko is amazing in autumn colours.

There isn't a picture of the second room (a bedroom with a queen sized comfy bed) on booking.com (negligence on the hotel's part) but I assure you there is one, and it's quite good. The space is old and a bit worn but charming and the staff is great. It's a hotel with a feeling of a hostel for older people as there is a lounge for watching TV where you can meet and chat with other visitors, and tables where they serve breakfast and dinner.
