So cozy! Felt like a home. We loved the shared kitchen and living area. Super clean and lovely staff. Nice neighborhood with good dining options nearby. We would definitely come back :)

It’s the second time I’ve stayed at this property. I liked it very much and wanted to stay again. Very close to a very accessible JR station. Close by are some convenience stores and nice restaurants.

Firm recommendation for larger families/groups. We stayed at the Mimaru Tokyo Ueno North hotel which is made up entirely of suites of various sizes. We had a suite for six (for five of us), three adults (my wife and I plus 21 year-old son) and two teenage kids, 15 & 17. The suite has four single beds, more like 3/4 doubles (based on U.K. bed sizes). Fine for one adult, plenty of room. The beds are quite firm, certainly firmer than I’m used to at home, but very comfortable. Lots of pillows and some of them are double sided with the rice grain type filling on one side. Others are soft like a feather pillow (not sure of the filling but they were just like they were filled with duck down). There’s also two bunk beds which are similar size but narrower. My oldest son, 6ft, had no issue sleeping in it. There’s a kitchen area and seating for six. It’s equipped with a hot plate, sink, fridge/freezer and kettle along with cutlery and plates for six. Sharp knives and chopping board, plus pots & pans under the sink. We didn’t cook in the room, but we bought in bread, butter, cereal and cheese for breakfast to fuel up before we started the day. There’s no toaster, but you can borrow these from reception for no charge (Mimaru hotels have a variety of what they call “rental” items but they’re all free to borrow). There’s a lounge area with TV (all Japanese channels) but we borrowed an Apple TV from reception so we could watch Netflix etc. It’s about an 8 minute walk to Ueno station and about 10-12 minutes from Ueno Centre (lots of restaurants and shops). Lawson and Family Mart within a few minutes for bits & pieces and there’s a larger supermarket in the station (although it seems more expensive than the konbinis for the stuff we’ve been buying for breakfast). The only thing I could say against it, was the lack of shelf space in the wardrobe for things like t-shirts & shorts etc that you’d normally lay flat rather than hang up.

+ great location, a few minutes walk to SensoJi, the Ginza metro and a two-stop train line to Akihabara. + spacious and spotless room with tatami area and kitchen area with everything you need. We had a small child and they made us find a courtesy set especially for him. + washer/dryer in the room, convenient and very simple to use + very friendly and English speaking staff, they also assisted us in shipping our luggage to the next hotel in Kyoto.

We were really lucky and got a room on the 10th floor with a view of Senso-ji Temple and the sky tree. Our room had 2 single beds and a sitting area with couch and table. It was perfect for our needs. I really appreciated the view as I was too tired to explore on 2 afternoons and was comfortable staying in this room. We rented LUUP bikes to get to the sky tree and a sumo practice venue. Although the front desk is on the second floor, there was someone outside to help travelers with onward transportation. This neighborhood is very walkable for restaurants, shopping, etc. We used our breakfast coupon most days in the sister Asakusa View hotel as their breakfast buffet is bigger and has a 26th floor view. Amazing!

The location of the hotel is excellent, short walk to bus stop (bus 46, good and fast connection to Ueno station), or a 10 minute walk to Asakusa metro station. Lots of restaurants around, 7 eleven, Lawson etc. Even a large Don Quichote down the road. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room is spacious for Tokyo, and has all included one could need. Fridge, microwave, kettle, all kitchen utensils etc. The washing/drying machine in the room was a great bonus, easy to use and within 3 hours we had all our laundry fresh, dry and clean. Excellent water pressure and a great shower. Spacious bathroom. Good storage space everywhere. The bed was comfortable although relatively small with 1,20 or 1.40 width, not sure we did not measure but it was small ;). Overall great value for money and we would stay again, for sure. Highly recommended.
