The people who work here made this place amazing. The cleaner always did an amazing job. my son has Adhd, autism and significant learning difficulties. He could create a mess alright but the cleaner always smiled and made the room look amazing for us daily. The kitchen staff were so amazing! the chef in particular from our very first day was so understanding of my son’s needs and helpful. I struggled to do much with my boy as he would get very overwhelmed so there were days I had to order food and take them to the dining area which the chef happily opened up for us and would always run and ask if we needed anything even though he didn’t have to and that meant a lot to us. Both the girls working in reception were lovely and helpful. My holiday wasn’t easy but the staff at this is hotel made our experience a whole lot better. thank you.

We had an amazing stay at the hotel. It is located close to all the shops, to restaurants and cafes, so our daily trips were spent on enjoying our holiday rather than worrying about transport. The staff was always avaliable, and they provided help with literally anything we asked, be it simple things such as sim card usage or instructions on how to get to specific places in the city. They were very professional and all knew English fluently, and they were also very kind and funny. The standard in the hotel was great. The rooms and halls were airy, there was a daily cleaning service, so our rooms were always tidy. The breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of dishes. Fruit, nuts, sweets, bread etc, there was no shortage of choices. (Special thanks to Halit and Umut). The hotel also provided a taxi service that covered the trip from the airport to the hotel and vice versa. The taxi was large and reminiscent of a minibuss, which was much appreciated after a long plane ride. Special thanks to Ferhat, Hamzah and Aiqot (hope I spelled it correctly) who were absolutely lovely and made our stay perfect. Definitely coming back here the next time we visit Turkey.

My experience at OBAHAN HOTEL was stellar from the beginning to the end. The hotel staff were generous and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Also, I enjoyed their breakfast. I highly recommend this place, and I want to visit this place again next time I visit Istanbul!

Blue Mosque

Constructed between 1609 and 1616, the striking Sultan Ahmed Mosque – or ‘Blue Mosque’ – is still a place of worship today. With no war victories to fund it, this opulent structure had to be paid for straight from the treasury – angering the Ottoman legal scholars of the time! It was a fantastic experience and a truly wonderful place.

It was a fantastic experience and a truly wonderful place. I visited. I walked around the entire area annd Mosque and took a lot of photos in the mosque and outside of the mosque. The Blue Mosque is really wonderful place.

A famous but fully respectable by its visitors sightseeing.

A famous but fully respectable by its visitors sightseeing. Although the entrance is free, serenity and harmony prevail. Cannot tell the same about the neighbouring Agia Sophia, whose redeployment to a mosque does not serve the new scope and downgrades the original monument.

Only thing to visit free. Everything rest you leave a kidney behind. Beware of the turks. 1st priority is to rip you apart and take your money. They’re ridiculous. Common thieves. Beware people. Beware.

The Blue Mosque — Sacred Stillness in a Lively World Stepping into the courtyard of the Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Camii) is like crossing into another time. Its towering minarets and sweeping domes echo with centuries of prayer, artistry, and devotion — a masterpiece of Ottoman architecture that still breathes with the spirit of Islam. Inside, the air is silent despite the buzz of tourists. Light filters through stained-glass windows, dancing across thousands of hand-painted blue Iznik tiles. Ensure that you have clothing that covers your knees, apllicable to both men and women. Women additionally need to ensure that they have a headscarf to cover head and shoulders. They now charge for the coverings if you don't have

As a Christian, first time in a mosque, I was impressed.

As a Christian, first time in a mosque, I was impressed. The colors and architecture are impressive. I was lucky enough to have the accommodation 5min away so I could enjoy the beauty before going in, one night before. I recognize I was disguised by the non-Muslims that are not able to respect other people beliefs and gets in the prayer area just for pictures. Pity them. You should never put your pictures before the place you are, no matter what.

The location was excellent. From the window, I could see the hammam next door, and from the terrace, the Blue Mosque. The room was clean and had a calm, relaxing atmosphere. The hotel owner, Mr. Bozdemir, and the other staff were incredibly kind. Every café and restaurant he recommended was delicious. Although I was traveling alone, thanks to them I had the best stay in Istanbul.

Hotel is fantastic localize (Sultanahmet - old town) to main attractions in Istanbul (Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque) - ca 15 mins walk. In area plenty cafe, restaurant, souvenirs shops etc. Room was clean and comfy. In facilities: kettle, fridge. Design room in turkish style (beautuful paintings). Good Wi-Fi connection. Breakfast was delicious. Hotel crew was kind and help - I felt like at home. It was my first time in Turkiye and is been unforgotable. Thank you for hospitality! :-)

Mr Lutfullah & Mr Rehat is very nice & friendly. The location is very close to Gulhane Tramvay is in a minute. Also close to a lot of restaurant & gift shop. Walking distance to Blue Mosque & Haghia Sophia. We very enjoy the stay & will consider the hotel if we come to Istanbul again.

It is in a central location in downtown Istanbul, within walking distance of the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, etc. We also loved the Turkish breakfast and the rooftop with its Bosphorus view, and we admired the hotel's old, traditional wooden house. As cat lovers, we found this city to be a paradise, with cats everywhere — they're so cute and you can pet and feed them.

The location is just 7 mins walk from the blue mosque and Hagia Sophia, 4 mins walk to a tram/metro stop. The breakfast is too good value for money in Istanbul standards. The hotel staff were very helpful throughout. I availed their airport pick up service, which made the start of the trip super smooth.

Family run hostel with a great people on reception, all of them are super friendly including women who is making breakfast every morning. I stayed in a mixed dormitory room which was maintained regularly on a daily bases. Location is the best possible, just under the Blue Mosque which make it good spot for exploring this part of Istanbul. This is not a party hostel so the atmosphere here is relatively calm, nice lobby area next to reception where you can rest for a while before going out.

This hotel is pure magic, it transports you through time. The Blue Mosque is right by the hotel, as is a very charming market too. Beautiful decor, comfortable bed, amazing turkish bathroom, and breakfast with the most incredible view of the Bosphorus. Staff were kind and very helpful. We will return to Istanbul and to this hotel when we can!
