Xanthos Patara Boutique Hotel was an awesome experience. A very clean, very cozy space with an amazing breakfast buffet, delicious local food and menu options for dinner. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I liked the overall atmosphere, there were grapetrees and palm trees around. Next to the Pool there were hammocks, a cozy sitting corner with cushions, a bar and an amazing view. Sunsets were breathtaking. I was very fond of the tiny balcony of the room. The rooms were spacious and clean, with nice wall decoration, clean bathroom and tiny paintings to indicate the doors numbers 😊 really loved the detail. Within five minutes by food we could reach the center of the village, and it took five minutes by car to reach the beach.

An absolute, hidden gem of authentic Turkish hospitality. I booked with a bit of anxiety, as the photos do not necessarily look very appealing, but the rooms and bathrooms are renovated, with efficient air-conditioning and nice decorations. The pool area is also very clean and inviting, there are multiple spaces to relax and suntan, pool towels are of course provided. But the best thing are the hosts - they greeted us as if we were their friends, long unseen, provided with useful tips and info about the area, made us feel truly at home. And oh, the food! Ayse is an amazing cook, after the first dinner we have not eaten anywhere else for the four days we spent there. So, avoid if you want to lose weight, you will not be able to with her delectable dishes 😀 Tip: the rooms on the top floor are the nicest, and the garden/pool side is the most quiet. There is a washing machine available, for a modest fee.

Golden Lighthouse is a small, modern hotel a few blocks outside the centre of tiny Patara town, a 5-minute walk to restaurants, the few shops in town, and the bus/dolmus stop. It has a nice large swimming pool, and the price is excellent. Although the staff was not as friendly as most we've experienced in Turkey, we were treated fairly and generously by the manager when we had to leave a day earlier than planned.

November: it was quiet in the town but enough was open. The markets are limited and there is a long (30 min walk) road in from the dolmus sotp oin the D400. You can enter the ruins by foot from the high side of the town and THEY ARE AMAZING. Dolmus out from the main bus stop until after 7pm.

Patara is lovely rural and quiet with beautiful scenery. The beach is long and sandy. Light coloured sand no pebbles no stones. Beach has turtles, yet turtles only appear at night time when beach is shut. Waves can be choppy in the sea. No drunken English here, it is not commercialised like Bodrum. No fish and chip shops. This is real Turkey. Many Turkish holiday here. Mosques dotted about. Every few hours a call for prayer happens. Lots of ancient ruins to see in Patara. The village of Gelemez is pretty. Many restaurants run by families. Excellent service in restaurants and fair prices. What I did not like is some of the roads are not the best quality. Some delapidated buildings about that are half built.

It's a small village with a handful of restaurants and...

It's a small village with a handful of restaurants and tourist shops and a couple of mini markets. Apart from the beach and ruins, there isn't much there, but the location was good for us with a car as we were able to explore all along the coast - Aludanez, Fethiye, Kalkan and Kas were all within a reasonable distance. The drive along the coast going north was exciting! Great views but lots of single track mountain climbs to navigate, we enjoyed that.

Visited a couple of times before. Village restaurants not so good as previously. Simbar charging more than in Kalkan for cocktails! Village generally very quiet this time, no buzz, however first time visiting in Sept, which may account for this. Bus timetable not worth publishing as they come when they want and don't always go to the bus station.

Despite its popularity, Patara remains a traditional Turkish village. This is because it is protected for both archaeological and nature reasons. Turtles nest here. We visit regularly. It is all accessible on foot but if it's very hot or you have trouble walking any distance, it is best to get the dolmus to the beach. Yes, you have to pay to enter the beach but this is because it is part of an archaeological site. The beach was very, very crowded on a hot summer weekend (avoid in high season if you don't like crowds) but it is so long it's easy to find space to sit and swim. Patara is very convenient for visits to other sites like Xanthos and Letoon.

Patara must be the one of the most perfect holiday...

Patara must be the one of the most perfect holiday destinations. An enormous, world class beach which means it is never crowded. In addition you walk past or through the excavated Lycian and Roman ruins of the ancient port city - amazing! And, of course, the wonderful generosity and good nature of the locals.

The pensiyon is located right at the center of this beautiful little town. During the day there is a bit of hustle and bustle because the centre comes to life with shoppers, tourists and locals, but in the evening all goes quiet and tranquil. The motel is a 20 minute walk to Patara's beautiful seaside and on the way you can see Patara's ruins. The staff at the hotel is exceptional, always on hand with a smile and a laugh. This place is highly recommended.

The owner is really welcoming, location is great, near Patara Center, rooms are very comfortable. The pool is well maintained and it was the best for our daughter. The breakfast is rich. Patara beach is one of the best we've seen. We stronhly recommend staying in at Flower Hotel and we'll return for sure

Fabulous location in the village centre. Lovely swimming pool. A welcoming outdoor bar is the centrepiece of the hotel and everyone gravitates there. Arif is an exceptional host - there are none better.
