First on my list when I go to Brooklyn is always the DUMBO flea market! So many great finds, be it vintage, handmade, up and coming artists trying to sell their unique items from tiny hand crocheted earrings, key chains or even life size flowers, to artisan liquor. Have a great lunch at a great restaurant located under the bridge, I believe the name is something like Little River Cafe. You can take the ferry from Manhattan and get off on the other side of the river, the restaurant is next to the ferry landing station. The hotel restaurant was only open for breakfast but as we dont eat much for breakfast we went to local cafes nearby which were very good and reasonably priced. The area is residential and quiet. One of the best walks is to do the High line which starts at The Standard Hotel. The Downtown bus tour is also excellent and you can hop on and off at your leisure to see many of the best spots. Would definitely recommend hiring bikes and cruising round Central Park.
