This homestay is located on the beautiful island of Cat Ba. We first decided to stay here to be able to see the bay areas and it ended up being the perfect place! Away from the more touristic spots, this island provides a genuine feel for the place- A great place to go hiking to a beautiful viewpoint, as well as cycle. Everyone at the homestay were immensely welcoming and helpful. We had an amazing experience going on an excursion to a private beach, having an evening BBQ while watching the sunset, and kayaking back at night to discover the lights that hide amongst the darkness- bioluminescent plankton! To top everything off, we spent the night in great company with the guys working at the hostel and had some traditional happy water! Highly recommended.

The view from the terrace overlooking the greenery was absolutely breathtaking – a perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring. The highlight was the food. They served some of the best local dishes I’ve ever had in Vietnam. Yen offers great value for money and is the perfect base for anyone looking to explore the natural beauty of Cat Ba Island. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area – it’s a true hidden gem!

The rooms are modern, spacious, and super clean. The staff was attentive and friendly, and I’m especially grateful for the receptionist who spoke English well. It’s just a short walk to Xuan Dam Beach, and the pool and garden were fantastic.
