United KingdomThe clue is in the name. A total retreat. An escape. Bill and Jeanine have created a paradise. The chalets were beautiful. The staff were friendly. The food was out of this world. They are such good cooks. The highlights were the vegetables cooked over the open fire. Fire roasted cauliflower and beetroot. Mushroom cooked with peanut butter. The meat was beautifully cooked but the star of the show was the veggies. That being said, it was all wonderful. The work they do in rescuing animals and their love for the area stands out. Their pets made the stay even better. To see such wonderfully peaceful and happy animals speaks volumes when you know they’re all rescues.
