A stovetop and kettle are also provided. The hospitality was absolutely amazing, from activity recommendations to the little extras, we felt very welcome by everyone. We mixed eating out with cooking dinner in the room, enjoying sunsets on the deck. At night, the sky deck and outdoor bath also made for a perfect end to the evenings--talking, talking, talking while looking out at the ocean and the Milky Way.

Hokkoma Aso Private cottage 1棟貸しコテージ南阿蘇, a property with a garden and a terrace, is located in Aso, 35 km from Egao Kenko Stadium Kumamoto, 45 km from Suizenji Park, as well as 46 km from Hosokawa Residence Gyobutei. This lodge provides free private parking, room service and free WiFi. We stayed for 2 nights at Hokkoma cottage and loved our stay. The property itself was wonderful, had everything we needed and felt like home. Our trip was focused on taking advantage of Aso's beautiful nature and the cottage's location allowed us to do this. It was also great to know that there was a large bath to use after the hike to soak our tired legs!

The huts are simple, but comfortable and the shower water pressure is great. The kitchen comes with a cooking plate and a rice cooker, which was very convenient for me.

Kuju Flower Park is 1.8 km from the lodge, while Guernsey Farm is 5.8 km from the property. Kumamoto Airport is 60 km away. This place was just amazing: it was exactly like the pictures, a cute and quiet place to stay in nature. The room was big and clean and it had two windows with view on the forest. We also had access to the private bath (in another building) that was beautiful and relaxing. Last but not least, the owners were so thoughtful and nice! They took time showing us the moon in the Observatory and during breakfast they gave us a lot of good recommendations for the rest of our trip. I am highly recommending!

Kinrinko Lake is 49 km from the lodge, while Higotai Park is 11 km away. Kumamoto Airport is 55 km from the property. This is the best place I have ever stayed in OITA. The house is very nice and very cozy. It is very warm and the place is very beautiful! Even my mum and dad who do not normally say anything was very vocal how much they love the place. The owners were very helpful and very warm people too. Just a note that you cannot go here without a car because it is in the middle of the forest. But renting a car and going here was the best decision we have made for our whole Fukuoka trip!

If you would like to discover the area, hiking and cycling are possible in the surroundings and the lodge can arrange a car rental service. Beautiful home in a convenient location. Lots of space, fully stocked with everything we needed. We hope to stay here again next time we visit!
