Papa was so lovely. It was a beautiful traditional guest house. I had breakfast too and it was lovely. I also really appreciated lifts too and from ski school and to the train station. It was honestly such a beautiful stay and I will be back. For any solo travellers, it was a very family vibe and I felt very welcome. Thank you Papa!

Very similar to a European chalet holiday with a Japanese feel. Owners and staff were very friendly and attentive and organised everything from transport to lift passes, dinner bookings to serving a delicious breakfast.

Even so I stayed only one night, I felt felt really welcomed from the first step in the Hotel. The owner was very friendly and warm. They cooked a very good dinner for me. After a perfect and silent night in the very cozy bed. I enjoyed a great breakfast before I was driven by car to the bus station by the owner. I can absolutely recommend this place.

Delicious food, great location, extremely kind and accomodating hosts, really nice rooms and comfortable beds. It was so great having an onsen each night after a long day skiing. Can't recommend enough! We had such a great stay at Hunter Lodge and will come back if we visit Myoko again.

It’s a happy place! Geoff and Tania ensured that we were well taken care of throughout the stay! They tried their best to pick us up from the train station even though there was a heavy snowfall on the night we arrived. All staffs were kind and friendly. Others who lived at the lodge were also very nice and sociable. I’m really glad to meet new friends from different parts of the world. Started the day with breakfast prepared by the team, then went snowboarding — ask Geoff to recommend ski areas if you’re unsure! Get into the onsen after a whole day of snow then head out to the village (about 7min walk) for dinner after — similarly, if you’re unsure where to eat, ask! Hang out at the common area to chill, chat, watch a movie, play games with affordable beers etc! Maximise your time here if you can! We were really sad to leave and wanted to stay an extra day.. ): till next time! Thank you Geoff and Tania for taking care of us! ❤️❤️❤️ *remember to have Yen or AUD with you to pay for your tab before you check out!

We had a lovely stay for 5 days at the lodge! We didn’t quite get the snow we hoped for, however, Brett & Chereyne were able to give us local knowledge and help us make the absolute most of our trip. The lodge was the perfect place for a rest day and to wind down after hitting the slopes. The food was fantastic - extremely high quality. The bar was excellently stocked. Thanks to all the wonderful staff there. We hope to make it back again soon!

Staff very friendly and helpful, lodge was very comfortable. They helped to arrange all our hire gear. Good breakfast. Great location, close to the skifield. Option for transport to the other ski fields if you wanted.

Amazing location. Chris and team made our first snow experience so easy, nothing was too much trouble. They were able to suggest many other local attractions to explore. The Drifter lodge is warm and cosy, we had everything we needed. Will definitely be staying at the Drifter Lodge in the future 🙂.

Michael and Tamami were exceptional hosts. The environment they create in the lodge is unique and memorable. It is a great way to meet lovely new people whilst being able to manage your stay as independently as you would like. The rooms were spacious and in good condition, amenities very clean and comfortable, and services and meals were fantastic. I would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

The family that run the lodge are very welcoming and helped with all our needs. The beds were comfy and the heater in the room made things very warm. The food there was very delicious so be sure to try the restaurant if it’s not booked out.

Tsubame Highland Lodge is in a secluded mountain valley and surrounded with beautiful snow-clad scenery in winter. The staff were very friendly and they put in a huge effort to clear our cars of snow , starting at 6am in freezing storm conditions. Dinner was delicious and the menu changed each night. a big thumbs up from me.
