This will be the best stay during your Sri Lanka trip. The most friendly hosts, they arranged everything for us without being pushy trying to sell their services. The breakfast was fantastic and served right on your balcony. The view is to die for and the balcony is perfectly suited to take it all in. Very clean and big room (it’s a lot better than the pictures show). We hope to come back here someday.

We even packed some food for the rest of the day. The host was lovely and helped us park and get around. Also, she was helpful with the tuk tuks. Definitely a place to come back to.

Devaka was really welcoming and friendly - and even picked us up after our long day of hiking and dropped us back off the next day! Great stop off for anyone doing the Pekoe Trail - we finished the day in Makulella/at Allimale Junction and got picked up from here (only 5 min drive). Delicious food too!

A car rental service is available at the lodge. We loved out stay at Arawe, it was one of the most pleasant stays in Sri Lanka. The bungalow was beautifully decorated, it’s located near the forest and tea plantations and it’s within walking distance from the city center. The breakfast was excellent. Our daughter loved to play with the friendly dogs and cat, we saw a lot of birds and even fireflies at night.

Both a bicycle rental service and a car rental service are available at the lodge. A wonderful stay here - the good reviews are completely justified. The view is jaw dropping from the comfy balcony. It is well worth it to stay here out of the noise of Ella and be able to look at it from the hills. They also provide a tuk tuk service into town for very reasonable. The family was wonderfully relaxed and friendly while still helping you with anything you need (and they collect you from the train station!). The dinner here was the best we had during our 2 weeks in Sri Lanka - don’t skip it!

Super nice employees, extremely helpful super friendly. check out the tree house room it's a great experience it's really right in the jungle. You can see a lot of animals. Thank you for birthday cake, next time we will stay longer :)

Renu is an incredibly inspiring woman, mother and co-owner who will do everything in her power to make your stay intimate, comfortable and convenient. She puts an umbrella in front of your door when it rains; she looks out the window to see how far you are to prepare breakfast; she brings everything to your table and removes it quietly. Not to mention the room, with its high double roofed ceiling that makes you feel like you’re in a nest on a treetop. It’s spacious, spotless clean (no sign of dump despite daily rain in Ella) and everything works perfectly, even though it’s literally a hanging cottage. The view from the bed/balcony is breathtaking and different every day, and you even see the famous train passing at your feet. DIGITAL NOMADS: we had quite good wifi, enough for videocalls most times of the day, but bring a sim card with data just in case.
