Ashinoko Hanaori is a beautiful hotel located in a wonderful part of Japan. We got a nice and clean big room with balcony and a view over the lake. The staff are very helpful and nice. We really enjoyed the big onsen. Even if it’s a big hotel it never felt that it was crowded in the onsen.

Opened in April 2017, Hakone Kowakien Tenyu offers Japanese-style rooms with tatami flooring, an open-air bath or ceramic open-air hot springs bath made with Shigaraki pottery.

We stayed in one of the rooms on the side of the hotel. The waterfall below felt as if it was flowing right inside the room. It was incredibly relaxing to lie in the bathtub on the balcony in such an atmosphere. I highly recommend staying on this side of the hotel to everyone.

This was our first Japanese Ryokan /Onsen experience, and what an experience it was. The moment you arrive you feel extremely well looked after. The rooms are beautiful, each having a different aspect/perspective of the traditional courtyard gardens & each with their own Onsen . Little extra touches like a hand made flower arrangement for you to enjoy were a welcome surprise. With the property situated on the outer edge of the town it's a short walk (5-10mins) that takes you into the extremely picturesque town/village. This walk is actually a benefit as it gives a chance to see all of the town, which you may miss if staying central. We weren't sure what a breakfast in a Japanese Ryokan would entail. My advice is make sure you are hungry as you won't want to miss this! Staying at this property honestly provided one of the best experiences we've had while visiting Japan. We feel extremely privileged to have been able to create some great memories and share some time together as a couple here.

Karaku is truly fantastic. Great location, short walk from Gora station - super easy walk nothing hilly. Staff was very kind and helpful. Room was spotlessly clean with private path. We will come back again.

The service is just incredible, staff carried our luggage and picked us up from Gora station. Pretty much everything is free, including in-room mini bar, and snacks and alcohol in B1. The food is very fresh and great, not that far from a true high end Kaiseki restaurant.

Beautiful surroundings, great location with a view on Mount Fuji. Members of staff are friendly. I would stay there any time when on Izu peninsula. Our private onsen (in the room) was great!
