I travel a lot to China for work, and while good hotels are usually... just hotels, the experience at EBO was different. The hotel I usually stay at in Hangzhou wasn’t available, so I booked a room at EBO. From the outside, the hotel looked quite simple and unremarkable, which made me a bit concerned at first. However, as soon as I stepped into the lobby on the fifth floor, I discovered a hidden gem. The lobby and courtyard are beautifully designed in a Japanese/Nordic style. The check-in process was quick, and they even upgraded my room. The room itself was by far the most beautiful one I’ve stayed in over the past few years: it had a stunning view of the city, a warm and minimalist design, a huge and comfortable bed, and an enormous bathtub. There was also a built-in sound system in the room, which was super cool. After two weeks of traveling across China, I had a peaceful and relaxing evening in the room. Everything felt brand new, from the furniture to the bathroom fixtures. Breakfast was a classic Chinese breakfast—delicious for those who enjoy and are open to trying it. Personally, I enjoy a Chinese breakfast, but for those who aren’t as fond of it, I’m afraid there aren’t many “Western” options available at breakfast. The reception staff also allowed me to check out late, which I greatly appreciated. I had an amazing and unexpected experience! Can’t wait to return soon.

The staff let us store our excess luggage so that we could pick it up a month later from then (this stay). We could also order stuff online and get packages delivered to the hotel. They have a robot that delivers food to your room if you order from Mei Tuan! The staff is very friendly, rooms are very clean and quiet. Would absolutely stay there again if I’m ever in Hangzhou again! 10/10!

If you come with a huge and heavy luggage it’s better communicate it in advance to be provided the room on the first floor! There are also a couple of good coffee specialty shops just around the corner. Highly recommended!!

The property is exceptional, staff are fabulous and very helpful especial Lulu and the front desk staff. Breakfast was fantastic.
