Urubamba
Tambo del Inka, a luxury establishment located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, is the only hotel in Urubamba that has a private train station with connections to Machu Picchu. The property has a swimming pool and spa. Food is absolutely delicious, with great selections. Spa was oasis of comfort The concierge was extremely helpful and patient, helped me to book train tickets and local transport. Their resturant opens 5:30am so we could take a bit or grab some take-away before we boarded the train for Machu Pichhu, which itself was a great comfort. Staff is genuinely warm and welcoming!
Urubamba
Aranwa is set on a sumptuous 17th century hacienda on the road to Machu Pichu. Luxurious facilities include a swimming pool, a spa featuring alternative medicine treatments and a museum.
Aranwa offers 3 different dining options that include Japanese-Peruvian fusion cuisine, native organic products and a chef designed menu. The cellar carries an exclusive collection of wines.
Everything - Front Office, Housekeeping, Food and Beverage, Spa, Engineering and Landscaping, Security, Kitchen. Every single detail during my stay was incredible.
Spa was the best!
Urubamba
Tierra Viva Valle Sagrado Hotel's architecture follows the typical design of the rustic town of Cusco, and the rooms are designed with a mix of wood, giving them a warm atmosphere. They include heating system and feature a private balcony or terrace, offering views of the valley. Room service is available. My husband and I loved our stay in Tierra Viva. The views from the surrounding mountains are beautiful. Staff is super friendly and always ready to help. Food was delicious; both the breakfast menu and the restaurant menu. Rooms are so spacious and well decorated. We loved the green areas where you can chill in hammocks, outdoor beds, and sit around the fireplace. Mind the location is not walkable distance from the closest town which is Urubamba; you must take a taxi to get you there. This is a great stay if you want to relax for some days after the high-pace touristic days.

We had a very relaxing stay- we had planned for one night, but extended it to two nights as we enjoyed the property so much
The rooms/cabins are very large/ Nice bathrooms and beds with patios
We ate all of our meals there and enjoyed all of them (I am vegetarian and liked all of my options/ my husband who is not vegetarian also equally enjoyed the meals)
They have a few activities each day, we enjoyed a short hike and learned about the local community, plants and birds
In the afternoon, they have a nice tea time with small snacks-
For planning- it takes 1.5 hours from the airport/ plan a ride in advance- it is about $50 for a couple from Cusco
The local area has a few popular tourist places to visit though we did not take advantage of these as we just enjoyed staying there
The Sacred Valley was an adjustment in altitude for us (we are from Nebraska) and it was nice to acclimate there, before staying in Cusco and ultimately hiking the Salkantay trail.

Ivan was a great host! The location and views are superb, especially from the room it’s balcony :)
I really liked the interior design and decoration of the facilities and the room. The whole place had a warm and cozy vibe. The bed was very comfortable and the hot shower was great. The owner Tony is a great chef and cooked fresh meals for his guests. All in all, it’s a great place to stay after spending a day in the Sacred Valley and or as a starting point for the Inka Trail. Great value for money!
A great stay with outstanding service by the staff. Not luxury but everything was very comfortable, comfy beds, good heating, hot showers, plus lots of little extras like free tea, filtered water, a sunny garden to relax in and the best hotel breakfast we’ve had in Latin America. Highly recommend.
Warm hospitality, outstanding food and beautiful views. The room was very well laid out , high quality linen, very comfortable bed and what pleasure to see NO TV! Highly recommended ❤️
The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Outside the little garden area was very tranquil and I enjoyed both mornings on the balcony overlooking the mountains. The breakfast was superb and very filling! All the staff were very friendly and kind.
This place is so gorgeous. The most beautiful views, lovely staff, luxurious rooms and dining area. They have the best selection of wines, and offer smores by a bonfire at night. They will also help with transportation and any activites you want to do. I feel so lucky to have found this magical place.
Loved our stay, special thanks to Sergio who was an outstanding host. This hostels facilities are outstanding! Especially the HOT WATER showers. The property is especially beautiful and well maintained. Wonderful artwork across the hostel. Multiple comfy places to chill, have drinks, or party. Breakfast was good! Events every night and easy to help you find and arrange activites in the area.
Beautiful location by the fast flowering river in the Center of the sacred valley. The hotel is set around and ancient hacienda with multiple courtyards, terraces and a museum and cinema. The gardens are perfection, the pool, lakes and island chapel all lovely. The spa is world class and the chef worthy of international recognition. And the staff……. In our experience Peruvians are the warmest and most welcoming of people and it seemed that the best of those traits were in abundance here.
