This ryokan style hotel was one of our best experiences in Japan. The views over the islands of Matsushima were superb - truly one of the 3 great views of Japan! Our room overlooked the famous Fukuurabashi bridge through a picturesque screen of the twisted pine trees that make this view so iconic. The kaiseki style meals were superb - delicious and beautifully presented. Each dish was a delight of discovery, awe and wonder. We enjoyed a private onsen bath with sunset views and also visited each of the other public baths over the next day. The views over the bay are simply stunning.

From checking in to checking out the process was excellent. All relevant information was provided verbal and written on a hotel brochure in English and Japanese. Buffet breakfast and dinner were included in the price and buffets were very good. Location from Takenouchi station was about 800 metres from the hotel. The onsen was very good. There was welcoming drinks 🍸 from 1400hrs to 2300hrs. In the morning there was soft drinks and coffee. The area was very quiet and peaceful. The hotel did provide a shuttle service to the Matsushima station at certain times.

Very convenient location, absolutely clean, very accommodating staff who are able to watch over your stuff at a small price, and also the fact that their shower rooms are onsen style or hotsprings where they have saunas, old fashioned bathing water that they constantly clean up! Super relaxing vibes, free manga for you to read, and great staff who despite not speaking English well, tries their very best to communicate using the translating app. Just a short walking distance from Sendai station where there is a lot to do and shop!

Comfortable location, just 5 mins walk from the Sendai station. Great if you plan to visit around and use trains a lot. Spacious room, with well-equipped bathroom. All you may need, plus a small fridge and a kettle. Tea bags for free. We had very good night's sleep, it was quiet at nights. Beds were comfortable. Overall good value.

The onsen was v good. Room was good and comfy as well. The hotel also has washing machine which was free and dryer which costs a bit. The buffet breakfast was very delicious, and it included a plate with 6 indents for you to better portion your food and not overeat. Guidemaps at the hotel was very useful. And all the staff were exceedingly polite and greet you every time you meet them.

Just a 5-minute walk from JR Sendai Station West Exit, Dormy Inn Sendai Ekimae provides air-conditioned rooms with a private bathroom. Free WiFi is available throughout the property.
