The staff were extremely friendly and very customer service oriented. The room and facilities were of extremely high quality - I felt as if I was in a 5 star hotel. The dinner was perfect. Hot springs are very pleasant.

The pictures do not do the onsen at this ryokan justice. We arrived later than I had hoped because our car's navigation lead us in the wrong direction, but the staff never made us feel guilty and helped us to check in. Our room was Japanese style with a great view of the garden and the ravine the river flows into. My tween found the futons very comfy. They worked with our dietary restrictions to make a wonderful multi-course Japanese meal, though I admit, I think I still liked the tempura course best. My tween slept through breakfast, but I really liked the fruit smoothie, which was lighter than I expected. The onsen are amazing here. There is the very traditional looking bathes overlooking a waterfall as well as two other floors of onsen, some of which rotate between men and women. Most of the onsen are also quite deep. My only regrets are we arrived late and couldn't explore the town and that I didn't buy the special chopsticks for sale here.

民宿たきた館 guest house TAKITA-KAN bevindt zich in Iwaki, op 32 km van Aquamarine Fukushima, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis privéparkeren en een gedeelde lounge. CAN’T WAIT TO BE BACK ♥︎ Kazoo and Maki are the best hosts ever. We traveled as a family with a baby and a small kid. We got an entire small house for ourselves, with silky smooth privet onsen. We had the best homestay experiance ever (with few months traveling in Japan its quite hard to beat). It felt like visiting friends or family. We are glad we ordered breakfast and dinner, since Maki is a professional chef and made us absolutely delicious food. Even though it's not very popular destination of traveling there is plenty to do around. We can't wait to be back.

Excellent ryokan, and the service is impeccable. Since this ryokan is in an isolated location, it is mostly suited for travellers who are well-versed in Japanese language and culture.

Het Marumine ligt in Ashinomaki Onsen en biedt kamers met airconditioning en een eigen warmwaterbron in de openlucht. The hotel and the room were very spacious and the facilities were really nice. Staff was really nice and friendly. The food was good and the baths were really nice.

Guesthouse & Kitchen Hace ligt op 11 km van Aquamarine Fukushima, en biedt een 2-sterrenaccommodatie in Iwaki en heeft een gedeelde lounge, een restaurant en een bar. Breakfast was individually organised and wrapped that made the whole experience a lot more unique. The whole building was an ex taxi noffice in traditional style. Had a cute little table for eating food. Don't expect spacious facilities, but if you are after traditional Japanese experience with home atmosphere, this Guesthouse is for you.

Lake View Inawashiro bevindt zich in Inawashiro, op 8,7 km van stratovulkaan Bandai, en biedt uitzicht op het meer. It’s my favorite type of low-tech hotels: it’s very quiet and comfortable. Rooms have a nice view, you can open windows and enjoy your stay.
