Boasting hot spring baths and a beautiful garden overlooking the ocean, Toba International Hotel Shiojitei offers luxurious accommodation in Toba. The service from the staff was immaculate with attention to every small detail. They were nice enough to take care of my luggage before i checked in and brought it directly to my room when i returned to check in. The was a nice welcome cheese cake and tea during check in as well as roasted marshmallow and coffee later in the evening. Dinner and breakfast was quite tasty and i enjoyed them. The view from my room was nice especially in the morning as i could see the sun rise, a perfect way to start the day. The "pearl aurora" outdoor onsen was amazing, it made my skin actually glitter because of all the pearl powder which was honestly a little bit funny.

Absolutely Incredible Stay – Beyond Expectations! Our stay at this onsen house was next level incredible! We were two families travelling together (11 of us in total, with kids aged 3–13), and this home fit us all with ease, comfort and so much space to breathe. Every single detail has been so thoughtfully designed from the layout and functionality to the warm, welcoming atmosphere that made it instantly feel like home. The onsen was my absolute favourite part. Pure heaven! Being able to soak and unwind after long days exploring was such a gift, and it quickly became everyone’s nightly ritual. The kids loved the open spaces, the adults loved the calm and comfort, and we all appreciated how effortless everything felt. There was so much room for connection and privacy and you can tell the hosts have really thought of everything to make a stay smooth, relaxing, and memorable. We honestly wish we could have stayed longer as it was that good. If you’re looking for the perfect mix of luxury, functionality and soul-soothing relaxation, this place is it. Perfect location for us with a car and close to great attractions too.

The female owner has an inquisitive mind, a warm personality, and a kind heart. Her English is good enough to communicate and ask for help. The sauna and the private onsen in the room are top-notch. I did not check the public onsen with natural hot spring, but heard it's amazing too. I booked the 5th floor with an ocean view, and the private onsen experience during starry night and the set rise were indeed amazing! The hotel itself is located in a remote little cute fish town called osatsucho, where you can find fishmen and women harvesting and selling the Ise lobsters in the morning by the port. It was a very unique and interesting experience to stay in that little town for two days during the winter when it was not crowded at all. The nearest convenience store is 10 + miles away. It was a very natural, grounding, even retreat-like experience to me, and it was drastically different from my experience in Tokyo, Nayoga, or Osaka. I did spot a few demolished houses with broken windows in the town, not sure if it's because of COVID or during the winter when there were fewer tourists. The big plus is the Shinmei shrine next door to the hotel, which is a very calming and spiritual place to visit and stay for a bit too.
