Hotel mio offers a hot spring bath. The hosts were so kind and the welcome coffee they serve is the best of the region. The house is very clean despite of the 180 years of history. Also, the hosts gave us a half hour explanation to the beautiful house and the surrounding area in details. We felt so heartfelt. Definitely recommend anyone who wish to have a Japanese house for their trip.

Dinner in a private room for our party was delicious. The town is very convenient to the mountains and the rest of the Unzen part of the national park.

We booked two nights and we were delightfully surprised to find that both the dinner and breakfast menus were varied. The wait staff and chefs paced the meal to our habits, and as English-speaking guests we never were challenged in communications.
