There are 2 indoor hot springs baths and an open-air bath at the property. Good facilities, small store in the hostel for some food. Delivery of bento boxes for dinner was a good extra! Very nice private onsen!

It is very peaceful and a nice 15 minute walk to many restaurants and beach. The staff made us feel so welcome. The bakery is top notch. I have had very delicious baked goods in multiple European countries, and this is right up there. We thought at first the mattress was a little firm(this seems standard in Japan), but ended up sleeping well.

The owner is just fantastic! Great personality, we loved all our interactions. At the end, he drove us to Kogumotori-oji for our hike. The mattress is comfortable and the breakfast is good. He prepared lunch boxes for us on request. The minshuku has robes for bathing in the hot springs and I loved how welcoming the atmosphere was. I want to return someday.

Hotel Kirinosato Takahara features outdoor and indoor hot spring baths, only a 2-minute walk from the World Heritage Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Routes. It offers free Wi-Fi throughout the property, a terrace and rooms with a Japanese interior and Western beds. It's located at a wonderful place, commanding a fine view. In the morning, finally understand why the name is Kirinosato. And, the place was with great hospitality.

The guest house is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in. The hotel owner was very helpful with the hiking trails I was going to take the next day and bus schedules. Also, the room had a nice view of the river and was very close to the Kawayu onsen. At night you could hear the frogs croaking, which was very relaxing and helped you sleep.

Personnel was extra nice and helpful, hotel was magnificent and food excellent.

Rooms at Nakanoshima Hotel have a traditional decor and come with both Western-style and Japanese-style seating areas. Guests sleep on futon bedding on a tatami (woven-straw) floor. All rooms are air-conditioned and include an LCD TV, an en suite bathroom, green tea and Yukata robes. Beautiful, elegant public and private spaces. Serene ambiance. Great amenities and onsens. We took a standard room and it was spacious, well-equipped and had gorgeous views. Plenty of spaces to store belongings in the room and bathroom. People were delightful, very welcoming, caring and helpful. Delicious food with lots of variety served on lovely dishes. Easy to get to local attractions. Exceeded our expectations

Situated conveniently in the Shirahama Onsen district of Shirahama, Natural Hot Spring Inn Choseian - 長生庵 - is set 1.5 km from Shirarahama Beach, 2 km from Shirahama Art Museum and 2.1 km from Kishu Museum of Art. This was one of my best experiences at an onsen hotel in Japan during my 10+ years of travel. The staff were exceptional—responsive, welcoming, and able to communicate easily. Parking is right next to the hotel. Guests can enjoy the onsen facilities within the hotel and the nearby 長生湯, just a two-minute walk away. Both onsens are clean with 長生湯 offering a stunning view of the starry sky at night. There's also a restaurant nearby for supper which is convenient. Our room was spacious. We booked a 4-person room for just the two of us but the space is more than enough for 6 adults I would say! If I'm travelling with my family, I'm sure they would be super happy with the room. The food was delicious and satisfying, especially the house plum wine, which is a must-try! Overall speaking, excellent stay and great value for money!
