Samo Eco Lodge was a beautiful stay, with great host! The room was clean and very comfortable. Beautifully set in the mountains, waking up and going to sleep listening to the sounds of nature. Just be aware it is 15ish minutes drive from town, (which is lovely but could be inconvenient for others) The host gave me a moto taxi number though and then was kind enough to take me into town and help me rent a scooter for my stay :) Overall, a great experience and I would definitely recommend.

The room was very clean and nicely decorated. There are fresh fruits for breakfast and drinkable water throughout your stay. The location is good, 5 min walking to the beach. There are bars and restaurants around. Very calm and pleasant environment. Highly recommend!

We stayed at Casa Shambala for one week and we truly enjoyed our stay! The accommodation is amazing and just like in the photos. Everything is clean, modern and well taken care of. The owners were friendly and we felt very welcomed. We also had breakfast there every morning and it was great; every morning we had something different (scrambled eggs, cakes, crepes/pancakes, fresh fruits and juice..). The B&B is located approximately 200m from the beach and the main road where you can find restaurants and shops. Even though the main road can be quite busy, the pool area is quiet and we almost had the pool just for ourselves :) I have high standards for accommodations but I can definitely recommend Casa Shambala - you won’t regret it!

The owners were amazing, very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were big and the pillows were extremely comfy. A very peaceful sleep in a quiet suburb, would definitely stay again.

It was lovely, very well decorated, AC was working very well and very clean. Location was perfect as is in the middle of everything so easily you can go north or south. Very lovely host that gives you recommendations on everything. Lovely breakfast.

We’ve been coming to Las Terrenas for 20 years and have experienced quite a few accommodations. This year was our first stay at "Casa Barbara". The property is away from the noise and, with only three bungalows, it's peaceful and clearly arranged. Drinking water is automatically refilled by the host and not charged. Electricity, internet, and hot water are stable. Even though the beach is only a 5-minute walk away, the pool is a great alternative on cloudy days. There are plenty of shaded lounging and seating areas, and coffee and cold water are also available by the pool. The cleaning lady does an excellent job. The kitchen is very well equipped by Dominican hotel standards—we didn’t miss a thing during our two-week stay. After this experience, Casa Barbara will be the only place we stay.
