An amazing cottage nestled amidst the Lapish woods, offering a true gem for relaxation and witnessing the northern lights from the yard. Our group of four had an absolutely fantastic stay, though we recommend that you have a car for this cottage since it is a 40-minute' drive from Rovaniemi or other places you may wish to visit. The house itself is fully equipped and you have everything for a comfortable stay in the Arctic. The sauna, baby reindeers outside, and the surrounding views are a bonus. We truly enjoyed our stay and hope to be back next year.

This review section hardly allows enough words to capture how truly wonderful our stay was. From the very beginning, every contact with our super friendly hosts, Kati and Petri, was effortless and welcoming. They are incredibly kind and caring, always ready to help with anything we needed. They even invited us to join them for fishing and to watch the lunar eclipse together, they really gave this place such a memorable and personal touch. The hosts have two super cute dogs, Nuuka and Násti and some chicken that we were allowed to feed and pet. The house itself exceeded all our expectations. It is far more spacious than we imagined and equipped with absolutely everything you might need, from women’s hygiene products, shampoo, and detergent to local snacks and fresh fruit. Everything was spotlessly clean, thoughtfully prepared, and made us feel at home immediately. The location is simply perfect: surrounded by nature, with reindeer visiting the garden almost daily, yet still close to Rovaniemi and centrally placed for exploring the area. The peaceful setting provided us with a tremendous amount of positive energy, and the stunning sunsets made each evening unforgettable. We felt safe and comfortable at all times, truly able to relax and recharge. We would love to return as soon as possible and can only recommend this beautiful place to EVERYONE traveling to Rovaniemi. Thank you, Kati and Petri for this amazing - yet too short - stay!

The igloos are perfect to see the northern lights. They have electronic mattresses that you can adjust with the control remote and put them as you like it. The igloo was clean and tidy and the breakfast was very tasty and have plenty choice of food.

Beautiful cottage next to the forest and to the lake. I guess it’s amazing in summer too. Everything is perfect for a stay with a family. only the stairs to the loft are quite steep for young kids. Only 30 min to Santa Claus village.

Someone from the property both picked us up from the airport and also dropped us back off, both included in the price, which as you will find, isn't very common. The owner of Kotatieva personally drove us back from the city center one evening. They were always in contact with us and made sure we felt taken care of at all times. The activities, especially the matts to slide in the snow were incredibly fun, also included in the price. The location was stunning, truly serene and cozy. We saw the Northern lights both nights we stayed in the cottage (from our bed) which felt like a huge priviledge, considering the tours to hunt the Northern lights cost around 400€. I was concerned about the showers being seperate from the room but they are a few friendly steps away from the cottage, which makes the experience really fun. It wasn't a problem at all and they were very clean and totally private, just for our cabbin. The dinner we ate was really good, prepared by their chef, they set up a super cozy dinner table just for me and my partner. We also bought food at the grocery store and since the cottage had a mini fridge, we were able to have a little aperitivo in the evening. The entire Rovaniemi experience was truly magical in huge part thanks to our stay in the Kotatieva Park and the attention received from the staff. So grateful.

This property is amazing. The hosts thought of everything. Communication is a breeze. By the way, they are on Instagram too! You really have to see all the beautiful photos. The indoor decorations were like a Christmas fairy tale. The heart warming welcome gloggi drink, plate of chocolates and “heater” and lights - you know you are in for a good time. The cabin heating was good, hot water and water pressure were enough for us a family of 4. The kitchen was fully equipped and well stocked too, we felt bad taking so much of the snacks the hosts placed there :) The beds were good for us (we were 2 adults and 2 children of 9 and 12) We didn’t get to use the patio much but it was so cute with reindeer skins laid on the 2 lounge chairs - it was so cold the reindeer skin actually froze. You can park right outside your cabin door too, makes it so convenient in the cold weather. The roads leading there were easy to navigate too with simple gps. Driving to Santa Claus village and rovaniemi city for grocery and meals was straight forward, scenic and so easy as there was so little traffic on the roads. The hosts were so kind to come down to open up the ice bath (and it’s part of the expansive lake!!!) with their equipments and also set up a campfire for us to do our bbq and talked to us one night. They also provided us with toboggans and they dug a slide into the snow slope for us on the spot ! You could tell they really take care of their cottage and they want you to enjoy your time there. Their hospitality was first class. They continued to provide us with information of best food around the area etc via WhatsApp too! We also managed to see reindeers right behind our cottage - we were so so lucky We were too hasty to experience the northern lights and made plans for northern light chase and went all the way into Sweden.
