Most comfortable room in India. This hotel was of the standard of a western hotel. The managers were excellent and the hotel was efficiently run. They helped with organising taxis, laundry and other advice. The restaurant and kitchen was wonderful. Fantastic vegetarian food. The gentleman in charge of the restaurant who has worked in various establishments all over India was informative about the menu to western visitors and suggested dishes. Great shower, comfy bed

The staff and the property itself were fabulous. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. The garden was beautiful. The food provided was delicious and mostly grown within the property. Whilst a little way out of the main town this was not an issue as transport was arranged and not expensive with pickup and return part of the deal.

I can only describe this hotel in superlatives. We were greeted with hot tea and very professional staff members upon check-in. Our room had a fantastic view over the surrounding hills, including the Kanchenjunga. We had water and tea-making amenities in the room. The hotel is quite cold during winter, so wear your jacket in the common areas, but the room was well-heated with a radiator and felt very cozy. It was spacious, with an upper deck where the bed and the bathroom were and a lower deck close to the windows with a social area to enjoy the view. The food in the restaurant was terrific, and so was the service. Altogether, we had an unforgettable experience and will likely come back, despite Darjeeling being several days of travel time from our home.
