This family-run hotel is located just off the Ring Road (Route 1), about a 40-minute drive from Vík. The surrounding nature is scenic, and in the morning, you can watch horses and cows "going to work" in the fields. We stayed in the apartment, which was clean and well-equipped with everything you need (refrigerator, microwave, kettle, stove). There were also some Nescafé instant coffee sachets provided for use with hot water. The bathroom was very spacious, with an excellent shower. Guests can use the hot tubs 24/7 (bathrobes are provided in the room) – and they are truly hot! Breakfast is served in the main building and offers plenty of choice. The staff were friendly and helpful. There's also a restaurant on-site, but we didn’t get a chance to try it.

Nicest appartment throughout our stay. Fantastic views and very lovely hosts. We also liked that there were basic ingredients in the appartment like oil, sugar etc. and even more in the shared kitchen area. When we first entered the reception area it smelled like cookies and Anna and her husband welcomed us. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.

I am so very happy with our stay at ChickenCoop. The position is amazing, like right out of an National Geographic Picture. It was so peaceful and relaxing, only thing I could hear was the little stream outside our house! House itself was beautifully arranged inside, very comfortable and clean. Bathroom was very spacious! I was very pleased to find coffe, oil, tea and other things useful for cooking, as I completely forgot to buy oil 🙄 . Communication with owner was flawless! Directions for check in were very clear. If you are looking for a place were to stay while driving on the ring road, look no further, this place is perfect! ❤ Can't wait to come back soon!

It’s clean, cozy, warm - and I mean also that the clothes dry out very quickly, which is a good thing, since the weather is so unpredictable on a daily basis. The owners are kind, nice, welcoming. There is free coffee and tea available, they clean the room every 3 days of your stay. The room is just as seen on the photos. Would highly recommend if you can’t find anything around Vík.

Room is good enough for family of 3 (with kid) nice outdoor pool and easy parking. the place is situated in a beautiful area where you can see hourses. breakfast is simple but more than enough.

Room as in photos and pretty comfortable. The living room big and has space for a lot of guests at once. Big windows to enjoy the relaxing grass view from them. Theres nice dogs outside that you could play with which is nice :) The host is making fresh breakfast every morning from scratch including small cute pancakes. Private parking.

Late check in easy to figure out. Welcoming porch area with coat racks and shoe racks made us feel right at home. Weird thing to say but I really liked the doors and alcoves. They were a kind of oak finish which made it feel cery luxury. The shared bathroom was great. No one else used it when we needed it and it was super clean. The shower is a rain shower and temperature was perfect. INCREDIBLE VIEWS. easy to find. Parking right outside the door. Friendly and attentive staff. Really laid back and informative. PANCAKE STACK FOR BREAKFAST!
