Nice cabin that meet our stay needs. Super helpful owner. During our stay that night, our rented car, roads were all covered with snow. Owner help to reach out to nearby mechanic so we could get the tyre chains and resume our journey

The cottages are quite basic, but nice old Japanese style and the view from the terrace is amazing. The host also arranged me a brand new electric mountain bike which worked very well for me to see the area around, such as Aso volcano and Takachiho gorge. The WiFi worked like a charm. Definitely recommend!

Very tidy, quiet and one of the most comfy beds I've stayed in in Japan. Would definitely recommend this place. It's also a great base to do some exploring around the area. The associated restaurant down the street was absolutely amazing as well. The folks were extremely welcoming and the food was good for the belly and the soul.

Meals were excellent, and the staffs were very courteous. The facility was beautiful, especially at night time with the landscape lighting on. I really like the big van that they used to transport us to see the Kagura.

Very nice house close to Mount Aso. For us as western foreigners the whole region was quite different from the picture we typically make ourselves of Japan - much more rural and rather sparsely populated. We stayed for 2 nights at Hokkoma cottage and loved our stay. The property itself was wonderful, had everything we needed and felt like home. Our trip was focused on taking advantage of Aso's beautiful nature and the cottage's location allowed us to do this. It was also great to know that there was a large bath to use after the hike to soak our tired legs!
