Beautifully designed hotel by woods, with many details and functions taken into account for hotel guests. We had a 1 bedroom unit. The room is generously sized by Japanese standards. They made space for luggage. Staff came outside to meet us when we pulled up because the entrance was a little confusing. Many staff spoke very good English so we were able to ask about skiing at Niseko for a future ski trip. Even though laundry wasn't in-unit, they installed a laundry room in every section so 4 "apartment" units shared one; free of charge and with detergent. Good variety and well cooked breakfast. This is a boutique hotel. There is a lounge area at front reception but not large enough to house multiple parties meeting.

It was the highlight of my Japan trip. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout and greet you at the entrance. The room was very spacious and the view was amazing with the snow covering the entire grass field. We went at the end of March so the snow hasn’t gone yet but the drive there was fine as there was no snow on the road. The outdoor private onsen in the room with the beautiful backdrop was fantastic. Dinner and breakfast were probably the best in my entire Japan trip. Kaiseki style dinner was prepared and made to the highest quality and I enjoyed every bite of it. Well done to the chef!

The house is beautiful and cosy feeling and Ryo keeps the whole place super clean and well maintained. The beds were comfy and rooms were well heated. Kitchen was sufficiently equipped with all you need. The location was good, near to the JR Kutchan station, a supermarket and a 7-11. Ryo also provides daily morning shuttle to Hirafu, which is highly appreciated. Most remarkably Ryo is a friendly and helpful host, and a wonderful cook too :) This is one of the best hostel we have stayed in!

Properties near Niseko are usually quite expensive but this was an affordable option with great amenities. We rented a car so we didn’t use the shuttle service so can’t comment on that but the parking was sufficient and only an 8-minute drive to Hirafu Gondola. Extremely clean and comfortable room. Excellent breakfast as well, self-serviced but there’s a variety. Oh and there’s a convenience store and supermarket just next to the property so getting food and supplies is no problem at all.
