Its a beautiful place in the countryside, simple and rustic and so pretty ... the bed was very comfortable and both the room and bathroom very clean and the breakfast setting, looking at the garden and land beyond, created a very peaceful start to the day and the omelette was delicious ... the host and his wife are delightful, too!

We loved how peaceful we felt staying at this property! It was a true village life experience. We would recommend taking a walk to the lake which is only 5 mins from the property. It is also conveniently located close to all the main historical attractions in Anuradapura. The staff are very friendly and helpful and even helped us organise a Tuk Tuk for sightseeing.

Kapila was very helpful in everything especially in getting a trip for wilpatu national park. Delicious and abundant meals with us eating breakfast and dinner each of our three days there. Very tranquil setting. Thanks to trees it was cool out on the veranda. Excellent AC and shower. Lots of wonderful conversations with Kapila.

Amazing place. Great service, the family is so kind and really does everything to make your stay the best it could be. They helped me with arranging a reliable and friendly driver to get from the airport to the guest house, and we stopped multiple times so I could try local fruits, so sweet. The son of the household showed me around Mihintale, and the parents provided a lovely meal every morning and evening at my requested time - absolutely amazing food that will keep you going for days haha! The room was very nice and clean. I was looking for something a bit more fancy, and definitely got what I was looking for and for a great price. Super comfortable bed and pillows, soft sheets and a nice bathroom. Environment is super calm and great if you're looking for some peace and quiet. Peacocks, chameleons and beautiful butterflies all around, you can spot everything from the comfort of your breakfast table. Honestly couldn't think of any improvements!

Janaka is THE host—truly exceptional in the hospitality scene in Sri Lanka. He was also genuinely concerned for our safety throughout our stay: while Sri Lanka is a very safe country, his attentiveness was still much appreciated. The food cooked by his wife was amazing—made with quality ingredients, prepared beautifully, and full of bold, authentic flavor. Easily one of the top three meals we had in Sri Lanka. If you're planning a trip to Anuradhapura or Mihintale to explore the sacred Buddhist sites, and you're looking for something authentic and off the tourist trail, stay in Mihintale. We had an amazing stay at this holiday home in Anuradhapura. The rooms were spacious, very clean, and up to a high standard—much better than we expected for the price. The whole place felt relaxing and well maintained. The service was excellent, and the breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Anuradhapura.

I had a great stay at Wamil guesthouse! The rooms were simple but clean. The hospitality was warm and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The highlight was the incredible food prepared by the host’s wife—both dinner and breakfast were delicious and made with care. The place is beautiful, in the middle of nature with many trees around and a lot of birds, this is very peace. The food is very good, you should try their kothu and rice curry, delicious! The staff was very helpful and attentive and we felt like home there! We originally booked a balcony room upstairs and they offered another room downstairs which was more convenient for us. I definitely recommand this place for few nights.
