We stayed here for the first two nights upon arriving in Sri Lanka and could not recommend it more. It was perfect for relaxing and recuperating after our long flight before heading off to explore more of the island. The hotel sent a complimentary chauffeur who was there to collect us at arrivals (and our flight was over an hour delayed!). From arrival, all the staff were incredibly hospitable and friendly. One of us has a severe allergy to coconut and peanuts and all the hotel staff were so accommodating and were even able to prepare traditional Sri Lankan food without any coconut. The room was spotless and spacious with excellent air conditioning and a very large bed for sleeping off the jet lag. The staff were also so helpful in organising transfers/activities/restaurant recommendations. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend to anyone visiting Sri Lanka.

I booked Swanee Grand for one night after my midnight arrival from Australia. I had earlier in the year stayed at a 4 star hotel by the beach in Negombo, part of a large Sri Lankaen chain for the night after my arrival. This stay at the Swanee was so much more beautiful. We were awaited by the lovely staff with welcome drinks at 1am. The grounds are beautifully maintained, we had the swimming pool to ourselves the next morning. The property is colonial style with a really nice feel to it. The rooms were very well looked after and clean. It is a little oasis when you drive through the gate while so close to the airport. Perfect start to my second trip to Sri Lanka, I wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you to the team there! I will certainly book again for my next visit.

We arrived close to midnight after booking the room shortly before. Despite the late hour, the room was prepared within just 20 minutes. It was beautifully presented and spacious enough for two people. The bed was comfortable, and hot water was readily available. The staff and owner were exceptionally kind and went out of their way to be helpful.

This was my second time staying here at this lovely little homestay. The family that runs it are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are bright and very clean, there is a/c and fan. Breakfast is served with local dishes and a large portion of fresh fruit. I also had a very good dinner of grilled fresh fish. I can highly recommend it, if you are going to be in Negombo for a short time and want to be close to the airport, it is the perfect place.

Fantastic service. Lovely welcome. Free private transfer from airport. Really helpful staff. Danoushka (excuse spelling) was really helpful and brought us blankets and made us feel very welcome and cared for. Amazing pool, fun slide and another nice pool too. Delicious banana fritters. Good value food. Generous drinks in fridge. Free parking.

- the location is on the beach with a great view - very good swedish buffet breakfast - we had dinner at the restaurant and the food was delicious - the roof bar has very good cocktails - the room was very clean - there is parking at the property - all the staff were very nice and friendly
