Everything, every little detail, was just fascinating. The rooms are set in an amazingly beautiful garden, and are very well equipped & super comfortable. Treat yourself to local dinner - so far our best meal in Sri Lanka (and we had many very good dinners before!), don't miss it. As for the hosts - everyone was super friendly and welcoming, we were served delicious tea upon arrival and Leel spoke very good English. As for the safari - we can't imagine a better guide taking care of us. Leel knew the park very well (showed us beautiful places off the beaten path), you could see he cared very much for the wellbeing of present animals and was very knowledgeable about them. Overall, he's a guy that would save you even from a charging elephant.

We loved the peaceful location. Nicely tucked away but still only a short distance from the park. Anju and his family were fantastic hosts. His Mums cooking was superb! The safari Anju arranged for us was brilliant. He took us to some lovely secluded spots, including right next to a lake for a picnic lunch he had prepared for us. We managed to see; elephants-(lost count of how many), crocodiles, mongoose, jackal, wild boar, deer, peacocks, green bee eaters, blue long tailed bee eaters, tortoise, toucan, two types of monkeys, hawk eagles, painted stork, green parrots, monitor lizards, kingfisher and fish that went crazy for leftover pancakes! We will definitely recommend EdenHaven to any family and friends looking to visit Sri Lanka who want to experience a safari and unique, family run accommodation.

I liked how clean it was. The stuff is kind of a nice family that hosted us really good. They served us a big healthy brakefast with vegtabels, fruets, fried rice nodels with spicy dressing. The whole expirience was amazing.

The stay was absolutely perfect! I wouldn’t change one thing about this place. We stayed for one night and from start to finish, the service and hospitality was exceptional, we were truly treated like family. The food was cooked fresh to order and absolutely divine, and we were fed until we couldn’t eat any more! The bed was super comfy and all the bathroom facilities were really good. The safari was great too. I don’t often write reviews but this place deserves one! The owner even called to speak to us just before we left to make sure we had a good stay!

The staff here are exceptionally good - the whole place is run by a very small team who seem to work very long hours but are always friendly, helpful and smiling. They somehow manage to keep everything spotlessly clean, make delicious food, organise trips and deal with any issues, and still have time for friendly chats with guests. I hope the owners appreciate what a fantastic and hardworking team they are, the hotel wouldn't nearly as good without them. This is an excellent place to stay for visiting both Udawalawe and Lunugamvehera national parks. We asked the hotel in advance if they could arrange these safaris for us and they sorted it all out at the price I'd have expected to pay. They also arranged for transport between the hotel and both our previous and our next destinations for a reasonable price. The food here is excellent - make sure you have the curry and rice, and the Sri Lankan breakfast (request them in advance as they need time to make them). The room was clean and very comfortable, with plenty of space and all the facilities we needed. It has a good view to the back of the hotel where you can see lots of birds, including some resident peacocks. It's very quiet in the rooms, you can't hear any noise from the road and there's good soundproofing between rooms. The small swimming pool was clean and had a few sun loungers around it.
