What a find! Casa Carvalhal is an amazing property that is maintained to a very high standard by the owners. Our room and the ensuite were very spacious, spotlessly clean and the bed was so comfortable. Having a separate dressing room was a real bonus. The attention to detail in the rooms is exceptional. Our room had a terrace with chairs & sunloungers and it was lovely to relax outside with a book and enjoy the sun. We have visited many places and can honestly say this is definitely one of the best. The breakfast was incredible and very healthy with the majority of the food being homemade e.g. yogurt, marmalade, freshly squeezed orange juice and granola - being given a bag to take pastries, bread etc with us was a lovely touch. Herman and Luc are fantastic hosts, who clearly have a passion for what they do - they were both more than happy to help us with ideas of things to do in the area. There is plenty of parking and the property is very secure and the locked gate can only be accessed by guests. We would have no hesitation in recommending Casa Carvalhal if you are visiting Gois or the surrounding area

Hidden gem, lovely view and traditional feeling in the village. Perfect place to do some hikes in the villages around. The communication through booking was in Portugese, but was very kind and flexible!

Very nice, comfortable and cosy flat. What makes it perfect is the staff, from the owner Ami (who could teach hospitality to everyone) to Ilidia, who is sweet, loving and helpful. The rest is done by the total silence, for those seeking relaxation, fruit trees and aromatic herbs, for scents and flavours and a starry sky, when the weather is clear, which can be seen in few places in the world.     Excellent staff especially the lady who booked us in I think her name was Tania. Clean functional room with great views. Free parking which was a bonus. Centrally located so a few minutes from the village centre. Ideal place to stay if doing the N2.

    Location was excellent, in a beautiful area, we would have happily stayed longer if we could but it was just a one night stop over for us. The accommodation was really good, with everything we needed provided. The lady on reception was lovely & very helpful. Our room was a twin with a large bathroom with a great shower. Breakfast was really good with lots of choice. Parking for our motorcycle was perfect. Would highly recommend a stay here.

    The location of the property was breathtaking and very quiet/calm. The property owner was extremely friendly and accommodating. Free parking on the premises, extremely clean accommodation with pool access and lovely decorated interior.

    Beautiful house in a small quiet village House has been refurbished to a very high standard. Excellent outdoor cooking facilities loved the wood fired oven and bbq There's is also a wood fire stove in the kitchen that heats the open plan kitchen lounge/dining area. The host left some fire wood for us to use that was enough for our stay. There is parking at the village entrance on the road and is a very short walk the property (don't try to drive to the property as its very narrow paths)
