I only booked one night at Avana Retreat for my boyfriend's birthday, as he needed a relaxing getaway—and the hotel absolutely delivered. It’s a true haven of peace. I visited during the winter, and while the rice fields might not be as lush and green as in the summer, the stunning landscapes still took my breath away. Plus, the off-season meant fewer tourists, allowing us to fully recharge and enjoy the privacy and tranquility we were seeking. My boyfriend tried the Avana Waterfall massage, and although it’s a budget, he said it was the best massage of his life. The rooms are luxurious, and we loved spending the night there. If we had more time and a bigger budget, we would have stayed longer. I also attended the Rattan-weaving workshop, which I really enjoyed. It’s included in the reservation, and I really appreciated doing this activity. The staff were friendly and attentive, and they went above and beyond by preparing a birthday cake for my boyfriend. It’s those little touches that make a big difference. I highly recommend Avana Retreat—it’s perfect for anyone in need of relaxation, beautiful surroundings, and outstanding service.

The homestay has been creatively designed by a lovely family. They do their best to meet your needs and make you feel welcome and at home. It is located tucked away, set on a hill. Their breakfasts and family dinners were amazing and worth a try!

We stayed here for 3 nights. It is a beautiful location, away from the more popular villages in Mai Chau. The rice paddies and mountains are right outside the door. The double room was comfortable and had good air conditioning. However, the room had no windows, so it did feel a bit like a box. Still, we found it better to relax by the pool outside anyway. The steps to the room are very steep, so keep that in mind if mobility is a problem for you. The food was delicious and plentiful. We found it best to let them know you wanted dinner in advance, as there seemed to be some confusion some nights. Dinner was a feast, and cost 250k dong each. It was delicious every night. We hired both bicycles (100k) and motorbikes (200k) from Hue to explore the area. You can cycle from Hue's to the main tourist villages in about an hour, all by the back roads through the rice fields and tiny villages. It's a beautiful ride. Motorcycles were great for going further afield to Go Lau etc. Our motorbike actually broke down halfway, but Hue quickly drove a replacement to us, so her dedication to customer happiness deserves a special mention. We enjoyed our stay here with Hue, and would recommend it to other abled people.

This place is located in a beautiful place, I was with them for a week, and it was like staying with family. They took care of me as if I were part of their family, I picked chilli from the field, I went for a walk with grandpa and they took me to the waterfalls. Everything incredible. I will repeat for sure. Maybe the meals are a bit expensive.. But is worth it. Everything is delicious!!! :)

Our stay was simply terrific! A wonderful, super nice and helpful family, the food was among the very best we had, tasty, plenty. The place is very Cosy, comfortable and right in a little village. The room and facilities were comfortable, clean and very nice. The scenary is amazing, you get bikes and can just start exploring. Very good place with kids.
